i just got off the phone with verizon tech support. the guy told me that they had recieved the update from htc last week and have been testing it and had no problems so far. he said he has not heard of any news of sending it back to htc for any problems. when i asked about a release date he said it should be put out OTA before the end of this month! that means this week.

This is also very dependent on said reps ability to use a calendar.

Ummm.....

.....somebody remind me, why do we want the update so quickly when it's been announced that it will be OTA before the end of Q1?

My Eris can't be the only one that's working as advertised.

I dunno, mine works great. I do want the update just like everyone else, but i want it to work right the first time around. I dont want the update, and then have to wait another month or 2 to get another update to fix any bugs that were missed. I cant wait for 2.1, but would rather wait to have it right the first time around.

All of you wanting 2.1 to work the first time around obviously either 1. don't use computers or 2. don't use windows....things NEVER work the first time around when it comes to electronics (and alot of other things). It might work pretty damn well but someone will always find something messed up . I was disappointed today...saw my phone had an update.............it was for twidroid...sigh.

Liar. None of our phones work "perfect," more like slightly bugged.

Excuse me if it was sarcasm that I didn't pick up on. I'm really bad at that.:D

incredible amounts of sarcasm
I'm actually thinking of adopting OTDs signature line
"Posts may contain anywhere from 30-100% sarcasm"

my phone has its flaws, but its runs pretty much how i want it too.
Still, the lure of Nav, Goggles, Earth and Helicopter View is just too much to deny

100% - Agree
0% - Sarcasm

I'm getting nothing done due to root and 2.1 OTA. It's killing my OCD for tech information.

AHHH, deductive reasoning at its best!

It's funny, but these forums show signs of having many sock puppets (alternate user names). Some of them even come in and validate their own previous postings, but you can tell.

I used to operate a huge political forum cluster and it was common. The foolish ones would use the same computer (unique IP address) for multiple accounts, until we put a stop to that. Then we began to see the same person using different IP addresses and attempting to create new accounts from them. And on and on.

In some cases a person will need to re-join if they lost track of things; people now days have many email addresses online. One sports forum I know of will not allow membership without a phone call!

But, heck, it makes for great forum population figures. :D

That's a great idea. Phone call, or SMS confirmation. Would weed out many of those types.
