what does everyone think of the current BCS (SEC West being 1, 2, 3) turmoil?

I'm a Bama fan.

I'm 50/50 on Bama getting a rematch

I do think that you should win your conference to play for the title but at the same time the BCS is designed to put the best two teams no matter what in the Title game.

thoughts?

opinions?

rants?

lets keep it clean and fun. ...ready set GO!

If LSU beats Arkansas, theyll play UGA for the SEC championship.
Even if LSU loses they could very well still end up in the title game.
LSU has beaten 8 ranked teams so far this year including two in the top 5 (Oregon Bama) with another top 3 matchup when we play Arkansas.

This years LSU team cold be considerd as one of the best CFB teams ever if we run the table.. Maybe not offensivly, but LSU's defense this year is one of the best ever.

I'm really torn on the subject. Do I think a playoff system (either 4 or 8 teams) would be better? Definitely, however, I just know then a similar debate will come up every year between spots 4 and 5 or 8 and 9.

I do think there is a better system to be used, I just have a feeling there's no perfect system.

I'm all about a playoff system.

I think inconsistency in the BCS is what bothers me most. I was a freshman at Ohio State in 2006-2007 when Florida whiped the floor with us.

That year #1 Ohio State played #2 Michigan as the final game of the regular season, and Ohio State won 42-39. Aren't polls supposed to establish who the best teams are, and in what specific order? So in winning, OSU retained their status as the best team in the country. But what scenario would have to happen for Michigan to prove themselves as the second best team in the country? If they win, clearly they move to #1. But they lost, by the narrowest of margins. But they fell beyond #2 in the country...WHY?

From the minute that game was over, I was rooting for a rematch. I know Florida stunned everybody with their appearance and resulting domination over Ohio State in the championship game, but going into that game, why shouldn't Michigan have played in it? If Alabama made it into this year's national championship, why couldn't Michigan do so 5 years ago?

I see what your saying at the time now it seems that UM was in a no win situation. With that being the last regular season game. They very well could have been the second best team in the league but because they lost the last game and didn't have a chance at redemption throughout the season like Bama did they got hosed.

lol that would insinuate that they were going to win on Jan 9th. We know better than that :p

ROLL TIDE ROLL !!!!!!!!!

hmm I seem to remember LSU already beating bama at bama. :p

Not to mention LSU has ran through one of the toughest schdules of all time and are still unbeaten. They didnt come this far to lose the Nat. Champ. in the Superdome to a team they have beaten already. ;)

Not to mention if bama does happen to win can you really call yourselves national champions when you didnt even win your division let alone conference, not to mention the BS that LSU has to beat bama twice to win it all while bama only has to beat LSU once?
Sounds like a load of bull to me.:D

Making excuses already ...I love it :D

OSU fan here...Trophynuts hit the nail on the head in the earlier post...Michigan probably would have got a rematch had that game been played 6 games earlier in the schedule that year. That is why Bama is getting another shot at it. It was too late in the season for a rematch between OSU v. Mich....I almost wish Michigan would have won. Florida exposed OSU and the Big Ten for what it was - SLOW!!!!! PERIOD!!!! Thank God Meyer is on our side now. Maybe we can bring a lil bit of that SEC speed to the Big Ten.

I'm not only a OSU fan..and yes Browns fan too :( ...But I am also a fan of football altogether so I am gonna route for BAMA. I have family in Bama so I guess I'll use that excuse. However, I think the best bowl game will be the Rose Bowl. Wisconsin v. Oregon. Will be routing for the Ducks in that one even though Wisconsin is a BIG brother! That would be like me routing for Pittsburgh in the SuperBowl just cuz they are in the AFC conference. Not gonna happen!! EVER!

:DRoll Tide:D

yea yea,at least the Jordan Jefferson era is over.
bama showed up to play, we didnt. Congrats bama, but regardless I still believe bama shouldnt have been there in the first place. They didnt win their divison, let alone conference, but whatever its over now. See yall next year cause its gonna be between LSU and bama again. With mettenberger at QB maybe we can finally have a consistant offense.

yeah. I'm interested to see if they go to a +1 system next year. Honestly your never going to satisfy everyone. If you go to a +1 then someone else will be left out...if you go to a +2 then eventually someone will get screwed. It was obvious LSU didn't play their best ball the other night. However even if LSU had played OKST they would've gotten beaten playing like that.

Why wouldn't Les put Lee in?

its not just there. The morning radio show i listen to has been talking about it as well. Rumor mill was saying that Lee and Les may have gotten into it with each other earlier in the season and he made a commitment to not play him. If that is true that is stupid. A coach should always do everything he can to give his team at least the chance to win.

Havent heard anything like that but, at least the Jefferson/Lee era is over.
We actually have some good QB's up and coming. Mettenberger, Steven Rivers(Phillip Rivers younger brother), Jared Foster, Jerrard Randall, and the 5 star Qb out of Indiana Gunner Kiel. The #1 Pro-style rated Qb in the country who just commited a few weks ago. Gunner Kiel - Yahoo! Sports
I am excited to see him commit.

Thats the hot topic around here right now. I mean Jefferson was not doing ANYTHING, why not at least give Lee a shot? God knows he couldnt have played worse than Jefferson.
Miles is catching alot of flak right now for not giving Lee a chance.

I think Lee would have played worse. LSU offensive line was dominated by bama. With Lee being purely a pocket passer with very little mobility, I don't think he would have survived. Seriously, you could have play Aaron Rogers and I still don't think they could have that game.
