In simple terms, the back changed. Therefore the back on the Incredible could change.

I hate to point it out, cause I know there was just a little "tiff" in here, but as far as I know we never saw any pictures of the back of the Bravo (Now Desire) before it was officially released. So, we don't know if the back changed or not.

As far as the front changing: I think the reason it looks so different is because of lighting. The picture was taken in low light. If you look at this picture below, the phone looks pretty much the same as the released version, except for some last minute things to dress it up, such as metal plating for buttons and the aluminum looking shroud around the screen.

So, if your argument was that the Incredible could look differently and change some cosmetically before it is released...I would agree. It could look WAY better by the time it's released. I'd also have to agree that what we've seen of the Incredible so far is probably just an early version of it, like the picture of the Desire above. So, the Incredible could look a lot more "slick," if you will, by the time it is released. I personally think that it already looks great, but some cosmetic changes to make it look more in-line with HTC''s recent phone releases would be a VERY nice addition. It would be nice to see the Incredible look more "professional" as opposed to looking so "teenager." Know what I mean? However, if Verizon is smart they'll do just what they're doing and market it where more ages of people would be interested in it, and unfortunately, making it look a LITTLE more like a toy or entertainment device will make younger people want it and us older tech geeks who really just want the specs will buy it too. It's really a very intelligent approach if you think about it. Just my two cents.

I called Verizon to ask them if they will be discounting the Motorola Droid anytime soon because I read online that Best Buy will be selling the Droid for $99 starting this Thursday.

Best Buy wants you to know that we are making it easier to get apps on your phone with lower prices on Android-powered phones on Verizon. | Facebook

The rep. said there are no discounts coming on the Droid until March. I asked her when specifically it would be discounted but she would not tell me. Could mean nothing for the Incredible or it could mean something.

Thanks. I guess I'm the only one that sees what I am seeing. I would assume that there was a black plasticy back. Now, I am not saying that the template changed. No, in theory they look exactly the same. But imagine what the back of the plasticy looking Bravo looks like and then look at the Desire. If you can't understand what I am personally saying after this, then nm. ;)

Good find...

Out of curiosity I called up Besy Buy Mobile and told them I was interested in upgrading to the Droid Incredible by HTC.

After putting me on hold he came back and said. That phone is going to be launched by Verizon on March 7 so you can't upgrade to that phone until then.

That date is interesting because I remember reading a post on here where someone knew a laid off Verizon employee that mentioned the same date.

Interesting indeed.

Yes, that is interesting. 3/7 is a Sunday, I know someone said before they usually don't launch phones on a Sunday, any significance to that date that anyone can think of?

I guess Best buy would know to have their Ads ready for that Sunday?

THAT is the key right there! I've been waiting for someone to say it. I can't even fathom Verizon releasing this phone and not running an ad campaign for it. With a name like "Incredible" I find it highly unlikely that this thing releases without a major ad campaign. I could be wrong though. Just my educated guess.

I agree.Very true. I remember back when the Storm 1 was released that a Best Buy inventory screen shot was leaked with a release date that turned out to be wrong. So, that date might indeed be in their system but it could be wrong. Anyhow, it is an interesting data point.

New to the board, getting in to all this research of cell phones, its great. My situation is im a VZW customer. Was going to get a droid today but over my research over the past week i saw the N1 was coming to verizon and preferred that to the droid. So i decided to wait. Now I came across the Incredible. I have a few questions.

1) What is the difference between the N1 and incredible? I know they both have a 1ghz snapdragon, sounds like the N1 will have more RAM. I know that the incredible runs ATC Sense. which leads me to..

2) What is ATC sense? I saw videos of the android 2.1 on the N1 and liked how it looked.

3) If i get a N1 who will service issues? Google or vzw? I have a NE2 $50 credit, will that be valid if i have to buy direct through google?

4) What would be the advantage waiting for the incredible instead of a N1 or vice versa? Which is even supposed to be coming out first?

Thanks for all your help, great forum.
