Hey everyone,
I am a Motorola Backflip user from India. A quick review of Backflip in India.

Cons:

  • Backflip does not have MotoBlur(Major disappointment for me) in India.
  • Quick Battery Drain Out.
  • Occasionally Reboots
  • Echoing kind of voice quality in the receiving side. I am able to hear clearly but other person hears kind of echoish voice.
  • Android 1.5
  • Bad Camera.
  • No Multitouch
Pros:

  • Awesome Look. Great Keyboard. Very Convenient. Backtrack usage is very natural to me. since my fingers automatically get placed there.
  • Android Market is awesome.
But, overall i would say I am kinda disappointed. This is my first android experience. So I enjoy some of the applications.

What I want to discuss is to find a way to turn these 'cons' to 'pros'. I know all are not possible.

But, If I root the phone,And i use the custom rom to get a 2.1 update.? I am quite confident 2.1 update will not be released in India. Knowing Moto's History in India.

Any thoughts on enabling MotoBlur for ones who are not fortunate enough to have it?

I wanted to know as a user from India, what is the use of rooting this phone.?

I am a user from india, but i have motoblur on my fone.. !
I transferred contacts thru my motoblur account only.

I am a first time user for android too..and yes, some stuff makes me feel happy and some just make me feel down.. !

Cons :
How do i delete only the sent messages from my fone ? As of now, i go to each and every message and delete the message rather than the conversation.
Cant send sms to everyone as per the group created !! SMS goes to limited few of the group.
(If the above are replied, i would post more to get ur guidance on the same )

Pros :
Love the look
Style of holding it and opening it makes many other ask "What mobile is that "
Backtrack is awesome.
Touch is awesome but too sensitive.(any way to reduce the sensitivity ? )
Love the android market and the stuff out there :)

But, yes i wanna know if upgrading to 2.1 would help ? If it would, how do we do that ?
Can anyone help me with the pros and cons of updating the fone to 2.1 ?
