what would the bennifit be of haveing rooted 2.2.2 over 2.2.1 will the roms work and is there really a difference?

It means new OM's that come with the 2.2.2 update wont have to downgrade to root their phones.

I tried, and sadly (as I expected) ROMming brought back the reboot issue. Have to Yank the kernel from update and apply it to a custom ROM to see benefits.

So I think I found my next project.

what if someone were to upgrade and root to 2.2.2 and flash reppards CM7... would that cause any issues?

It would work, but reboot problem returns.

Mike, ill pull your kernel if its the unmodified updated 2.2.2 kernel. Otherwise ill take it from stick update. At this point, ill take stock CPU speeds and stable over OC and reboot daily.

No modifications have been made. Just removed bloat, replaced lghome with adw launcher. Added a couple apps. Adjusted build prop. And I think thats all. :)

Just want to verify before attemping...

Is this a root for 2.2.2 SW Version MS690ZV7 update that fixed the reboot issue? And without the addition of any custom rom's just bloatware removal, will the reboot issue return?

Yes, this will root that version. The reboot issue should not return unless you flash the phone with a rom or kernel built for 2.2 or 2.2.1. The fix for the reboot issue required an updated kernel, which those roms do not have. Though, its safe to remove the bloat yourself, or flash Kelso's 2.2.2 rom. (which I might try) There is a few threads on this forum the explain which apps are safe to remove and which aren't. Anyways, good luck. :D

I can't get the kitchen to repack the zImage into reppards CM7 ROM. Zip that comes out just wont flash on updated recovery in this pack.

Nor will it flash in jonedys. :(

Will keep at it though. I want stable CM7
