Anyone ever have their phone get stuck in 1X? Initially I thought that it must be another network issue on Verizon's end. However, after going into the Power settings, switching to High Performance (4G), getting a 4G signal, then cycling back to Normal, I was able to get 3G back. I know...some are going to question why I don't just leave it in High Performance all of the time. I like battery life, and don't need the extra 1/100th of a second quicker download of a web page all of the time. :)

You know, before verizon had all this BS going on with the network, my rezound worked flawlessly. Now, I sometimes see 1X (in areas I never did before). Sometimes the handoff between WiFi, 3G and 4G takes a bit longer. Sometimes I go from 4G to 1X. And sometimes I do get stuck in 1X mode (which sucks). Reboot is the way to get the Rezound back on track.

I just recently received my rezound and after like a week of having it i thought my unit was malfunctioning or something. It was always stuck in 1x and i couldn't understand why. it must be some bug somewhere in the radios or something. normal mode just automatically goes to 1x and performance mode occasionally has this issue as well. hopefully there will be a software fix or something. This phone is amazing other than that occasional issue

I had the same problem last week after having it for 1 week. 1x the whole day. Took it to Verizon early evening that day. The rep took out the battery and then the sim card. And everything was all good.
His explanation "travel between 2 3G/4G coverage areas and if there is a gap, it will fall into 1x and may not get back up after entering the other 3G/4G area."
"rebooting only will not work, the sim card must be pulled also"
and he added "this should happen very rarely"
hope this would help

Stuck in 1X mode here in Bucks County, PA as well. Glad I found this thread.

Are there any drawbacks to setting it back to CDMA Rev. A? E.g. speed changes or will it toggle more slowly between 3G and LTE or vice versa?

In other words, is this something we should leave set to CDMA Rev. A or only long enough for LTE issues to subside?

What I find really wonky is I'm in an area with NO 4G, yet this still affected me. Why is it I'm in an area with no 4G signal and this caused eHRPD to tank?

Just wondering if I should leave it at this or set it back to eHRPD once the LTE issue goes away?

I've had this problem too. I also had it with my Moto Droid X in the same area of the city I live in. My solution.....have the airplane toggle widget at hand. When you see a persistant 1x, hit airplane mode. Wait about ten seconds and then toggle it off. It should regain 3G. Always works for me. BTW, I'm on CDMA most of the time now so I don't know how it works if you've checked LTE/CDMA. If you're getting 1x frequently then it may be a bigger problem.

I had already tried toggling airport mode and rebooting prior to posting. :/

I just set it back to eHRPD since it was still flipping to 1X off and on. 3G has been ok since, so it was probably just more hiccups from America's "most reliable" network.

None of those things work. Going into the ##778# menu, edit, modem, change to rev.a will not prevent the phone from going to 1x. The reason is our 4G devices use a different 3G than 3G only devices.

It's verizons network issues that cause this. I read something a week or so ago about it. In a nutshell, sometimes when the 4G network has issues, it may also kill 3G. But not the 3G we used to use before. That remains separate from us, because our devices are 4G LTE. When you hit 1x, you have no data, voice only. No 4G, no 3G.

Your best bet (if you do not have 4G in your area) is to leave the device set to cdma, under settings. If you have 4G, just leave it set to LTE/cdma.

There's nothing else you can do until verizon figures out how to acknowledge the device on the network better and when a problem occurs, keep it contained to as small an area as possible.

Geez, this is garbage. I have been stuck on 1X or NO data all day here and I don't even have 4G in this area. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with a "tier 2" person who didn't do squat for me. Had me toggle data on/off (he didn't even know how, he had to look it up and by the time he got back, it had flipped back over to 3G). I'm supposed to be keeping an eye on it and he's supposed to call me back in 2 hours (~7:45 EST). It has been on 3G maybe 15 minutes of the last 1.5 hours.

Now I know what all the people in the Nexus forum were bitching about. What a joke VZW. They are going to need to footnote their "America's Most Reliable Network" with an asterisk that says "except on 4G phones".

sorry didn't read all of the above. but got my phone the same day there was a 4G outage. had no idea what was going on. i called verizon and they did a reboot on my phone and it has been fine ever since. i was really just mad b/c it wasn't defaulting to 3G like it should- but the reboot solved that issue was well.

Rebooting, airplane mode on/off, and the rep "re-registering" my line/phone did nothing. I'm still dropping to 1X and it's been like this all day. They assured me there are "no outages" in this area. Just one in Butler, PA which is like 6+ hours away.

craziness today. i swear i'm about to throw my arms up in the air b/c nothing seems to work right. i probably would return my phone had i not dropped it in water. now i guess i'm stuck with rezound whether it works or not (love it when it works).

so i hard reset again, didn't work. reset the phone to factory default, while on the phone with vreizon while i am at work for at least 20 mins. following that no 3G or 4G still and couldn't even make a call out on it. phone was hot as crap (probably from rebooting it 7X b/c of verizon employees. got off the phone with her having no working phone to even make calls (other than work phone). pissed off and complained to verizon employee. let phone cool down. put back in SIM, SD and battery- rebooted...and now the 4G and phone are working again. WTF!?!?!?! i realize (and still am) glad my phone is working since it did fall in a glass of water...but WTF they have no answer to why 4G keeps dropping off and we aren't defualting to 3G. she kept being like you do'nt have a Wi-fi signal where you are? I'm all heated with her like NO, I'm in the middle of a freaking huge city, I SHOULD have 4G and if not that 3G.

anyways please continue to post updates as it seems my internet keeps falling off.

My phone went to 1x this morning. I had it in CDMA mode. So I switched to 4G, got the signal back and now things are running running fast with a tight connection. I got the fat battery so what, me worry?

1x has nothing to do with signal strength, right? I'm sure as h*ll not a signal expert. My signal strength was good....does that just have to do with the voice/call signal side?

Stuck in 1x again. I put the phone in LTE/CDMA mode, as soon as I was in 4G area, the phone switched to 4G. I drove into a 3G area and phone went to 3G. Drove back into a 4G area, the phone went to 4G. Left to go home and the phone went from 4G to 1x.

Here I sit at home stuck in 1x. I don't have 4G where I live, just very good 3G. I haven't rebooted yet, because I am contemplating returning this and going back to a regular 3G phone.
