Handcent won't vibrate for any incoming messages. Here is what I've done:

-Phone vibrate is checked in 'Sound & display settings' for Android.
-Vibrate is checked to always in Handcent.
-Tried multiple vibrate patterns in both normal mode and vibrate mode.
-Tried multiple vibrate patterns for vibrate 'Only when device is set to vibrate mode' (option in handcent) while having the device in vibrate mode.
-Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent.

Phone vibrates normally for all other applications. I don't understand, can anyone help?

I had this problem for months. I swear I had nightmares about it. "sound on keypress" definitely did nothing to fix the issue of no vibration on incoming texts. It was not just handcent, it was any messaging app I tried.

I found in some other thread (after subscribing to half a dozen with no resolution) that an app called Sound Manager by Daniel Roozen would help. When you open the app it gives you refined control over all your sound settings, then press the menu button to get Vibrate Settings. This has two internal settings for vibrate options that you would think are controlled from the regular android sounds menu, but apparently these are buried deep in the system and can somehow get shut off permanently. With this app you can turn them back on. I have not had to re-run this app since fixing the settings about a month ago.

LOL @ nightmares. I swear I was going crazy and felt all alone in the droid community as no one had a response. But THANK YOU, that definitely worked!
