The verdict's in: XO Skin sucks

The slight rubbery feel stays, the delay on the screen shouldn't. I definitely don't think this protector is perfect but I've had zero issue with screen response though. I assume it's totally set and doesn't have any bubbles or streaks under the skin?

I'll definitely report back if I have any issues cause I don't want to mislead anyone, just wanted to be sure to point out that not all the xo skin users are having issues with it
no bubbles. Had a nice, clean installation.

Installed my XO yesterday, had a few micro bubbles that went away in 12 hours (left it in the sun for a 1 hr or so), no orange peel, no grainy screen, and very clear. The wife couldn't tell that I had on a screen protector, and it covered the entire screen (remember there's two types of XO protectors for the GN, you probably got the Case Fit one that doesn't cover the entire screen). Slight rubbery feel but not bad at all. Overall, I'm happy with it.

it's been five days since i threw away skinomi protective skin and put on xo skin.

Really easy to install, no bubble
skin covers almost whole screen. around 0.5mm on each side, but it's not noticeable. It has only slight orange peel look. You will only see it if you reflect direct light on it and check.

However as much as I wanted this skin to look perfect, screen looks streaky. It is also somewhat hard to scroll.

So i am going to try SGP flex and see what happens...

I LOVE the Steinheil Ultra Crystal protector for my Fascinate, but it doesnt seem like they are making the UC for the Nexus. I may give their "Flex" version a shot, the UC is literally crystal clear....zero orange peel that I can say, I know they are "expensive" but Im very impressed. I only hope the Flex is just as nice.

Have had Zagg on everything I own from ps3 to remotes, camera screens and phones and iPad. Also tried ghost armor on a few of my phones. I can say out of the wet application install protectors. This has the least amount of orange peel I mean very very little. Also covers the whole screen also no distortion at all. A lot less rubbery feel especially compared to the other two brands I previously mentioned.
I read a lot of the complaints about these wet install protectors and it seems that is just the nature of this protectors material. But out of the three (zagg, ghost, & xo) the xo has the least of these symptoms in my experience.

i am very unimpressed with the Flex. still has the rainbow banding that people are describing on much cheaper protectors (skinomi, klearkare, etc.) at 5x the price. the first one i put on was horrible, let it cure for 72 hours, but the rainbow banding was just unbearable. my second one is not as bad as the first, but still enough to annoy me. i really wish there was a viable option for screen protectors on this phone, but so far, there doesn't seem to be. i ran my thunderbolt screen naked and it ended up scratched to hell from being carried in my pocket. i wanted to be more careful with the GNex, but it looks like a naked screen is the only way to enjoy screen clarity at the moment. :(

You probably didn't let it dry all the way. Mine covered all of the screen as well and doesn't have orange peel. The "rubbery feel" also went away after a day or so of drying. I have noticed tiny scratches some times appearing, but they self heal after a day or so, for deep ones I use a blow drier to warm up the skin and rub them out. Other ones can't do that. With so many people liking XO and being fans on here, you must have done something wrong.

Good to know, unfortunately :(

Ashame there doesnt seem to be a really good protector out there. Doesnt look like they are making an Ultra Crystal for it either, it seems the outer edges of the glass are a little "bevelled" so the dry contact glue wont stick to them.....I noticed at least one person with the same issue using the Boxwave protector........it just didnt adhere to the outer edges. Granted, the right case may cover right over it, but still.

I might give the Boxwave a try....its a dry install, and it seems to be cut to cover the WHOLE screen. According to their site the areas around the edges should eventually conform and stick like the rest of the protector, so maybe thats the best bet right now for this phone.

I really really didnt want to leave it naked, I just know Ill pull some dumb dumb move and end up scratching it.

The rubbery feel of the XO skin will go away. Mine was pretty rubbery for a couple days after putting it on, but it seems that using it made it go away. Its super smooth now. No orange peel. A soft T shirt wipes away any marks I've seen on it.

If you are scratching it with a paper towel, what the heck are you doing to it? Mine seems near bulletproof so far.

I'm not a fan of the rubbery feel as compared to the dry screen savers. It is the best best wet application screen saver I've used though.

I had it on my original Nexus but had to replace the phone. I removed it and it say on my countertop for 2-3 days. Last night I was curious what it would do it if I reapplied it. Amazingly it looked great (still rubbery though). It had a couple of crumbs underneath it so I peeled off again and ran it under some warm tap water and got the crumbs off then soaked it with the application fluid and reapplied. Curing now but it still looks good!!

Amazing product if I can get used to the feel!

i ordered the steinheil oleophobic screen protectors last night. they leave a little uncovered at the bottom, but everyone says they are crystal clear and dont feel rubbery.

like another poster said, there really is a very limited selection of quality skins for this phone.....

I've had my XOSkin on my GNex for about a week now. I messed up during the installation process (well at the time, I didin't think I did) and long story short, there are 4 ugly little bubbles down near where the LED light is. Additionally, several streak marks that look like ugly smudges are visible really only when the screen is off. I'm 50-50 on whether to take it off or leave it on. and if i take it off, I'm 50-50 on whether to pay a little extra to get a replacement or just leave it off.

+5 for every point quoted - to take out a scratch get it warm, squirt a little of the cleaning solution that came with it on a microfibre cloth and they come right out. You have to give these XO skins a few days to mature and bond to the surface and the rainbow/cloudiness and bubbles disappear. Nearly all of the stickiness goes away as well in a week.

i had tons of bubbles after i kinda messed up the installation. I had 2 big ones in the bottom right corner but decided to wait it out before i bought another one. Low and behold, about 4 days after initial installation all the bubbles were gone and i have a crystal clear cover. almost all the rubbery feeling is gone now. I love it.

XO installed last night, lots of relatively small bubbles but not what I would've called micro. Woke up and they were all gone.

I've got about a 1mm gap between the protector and the bottom of the phone, other than that I'm pretty pleased. I tend to shun screen protectors, but my DroidX got some pretty good dings in the glass so I decided to give it a go this time around.

So far so good.
