How Does it Compare?!

I am starting to regret my purchase of the Samsung Moment, I dont know if its with the Lacking OS of 1.5 as I see 2.0 on the website the interface is different with the phonebook, the way the screen looks. I still have yet to figure out how really this phone is the "same" or compares to the IPhone ... in simple ways of application use, I still see my friends on their I Phones talking to millions of people with in a 5 mile range to a 100 mile range on all these social applications. With also that in talk of Applications why is it when i try to get a NEW! or POPULAR! application I have the wrong OS I am starting to think I should of held out for the Nexus unlocked cause I think that is the only one you can get that does everything. I was really hoping for a socialized phone not a traveling phone. I will say it is handy ,when you go into the store to compare prices or when you go on a long trip finding restaurants, gas stations and such but the I phone helps everyone connect and thats what I really would like to see a SOCIAL app for ALL android USERS together!

I thought the Moment was on the list to get 2.1? If so, just wait it out. Soon you'll be able to get everything.
why dont you read his post he wants social integration in his phone such as HTC's Sense UI or Motorolas MOTO BLUR he doesnt like the moment and even with 2.1 for the moment it will not have social network integration at all it will have vanilla android 2.1

You can still access social networks like youtube, facebook, myspace etc on vanilla Android. They may not be served up or synced like with motoblur but they're still accessible via apps and widgets. Part of his problem, if I understand his post completely, is his version of Android isn't supported by some of the apps in the Market. 2.1 will solve that. Going from a Moment to a Hero just for Sense UI makes little sense IMO. It will be a hardware downgrade.

you can get all facebook myspace and twitter apps with 1.5 but obviously thats not good enough for him if hes still complaining he wants something like sense ui which IMO is leaps and bounds over boring vanilla android and it maybe a hardware downgrade but its a software upgrade because vanilla sucks....

Well that's your opinion. I played around with a Hero, and the sense UI couldn't make up for the overall laggy experience. I'd take my vanilla Droid over the laggy Hero any day of the week. Different strokes for different folks.
Besides, who's to know the OP tried all those apps? That's just an assumption on your part. Maybe he's unaware of them and needs to simply be pointed in the right direction.

really? laggy? ive had no lag at all except for the dialer but i can deal with that not a big deal but i agree too each there own but i find it kind of silly to not search the market first before complaining about applications agree? thats why i assume hes already tried

Shying away from the arguing... yes I don't think he really searched the market. He might have kind of skimmed on the newest apps, seen one or two that don't work on 1.5, then posted here with an obscured outlook that nothing works on 1.5 anymore. Press menu, then click search. That or look under applications, and choose a category. It'll do you wonders.

Thank you ALL!! So Much for telling me how to search through the MARKET.. I am Very MUCH!!! Aware of how to search but the point I am trying to get across is names of apps that people use to chat on like on I Phone its called LOOPT well guess what its not working on the Moments ...Apps that USE GPS they need to have a category for them instead of Social ,Networking (Arent these one in the same) and they need to have Newest Available I would of never found the DirecTv App if i hadn't went on the DirecTv Website and saw where they released it..Android is not doing to much of a good job announcing new apps with the I Phone you have the Newest Releases category not Most popular or by date.. cause I want see what new ones were released in the past 2-3 days to see if I can use them The Market needs a major over haul!
