So this is the rooting process.. it worked on mine it'll work on yours(U need a PC to execute this)
IN THE LINKS REPLACE 'xxx' WITH 'www'

1. Download Superoneclick 2.2 [By xda-developers]

This is what will root ur device so download from here :-

SuperOneClickv2.2-ShortFuse.zip - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

After downloading extract it anywhere you please. Now go to ur system folder i.e where you have installed your OS (i.e Win xp, win 7 etc) Lets say its in the 'X' Drive. So go to X:/WINDOWS/system32/cmd.exe and copy it, now go to where you installed Superoneclick. Inside the folder there'll be a folder as "ADB" open it and paste the 'cmd.exe' you copied.

2. Now you need the LG ADB Drivers

Download the drivers and install it:-

http://www.junefabrics.com/bin2/LGDriver.exe

It is recommended that you restart after installing the drivers.

3. Connect your Device

After installing the Drivers Connect Your Optimus Net using the data cable. In your Device go to settings>Applications>Development>USB Debbuging. Check the box beside it. It will give you a warning just click OK. When you connect your Device you will see 'Turn USB storage on" option DO NOT TURN IT ON. After connecting you will see in the notification bar that "USB Debbuging On" it means you have done evrythng ok uptil now.

Now before rooting Go to settings>Storage>Unmount SD Card it will ask you if you want to unmount click OK. After it is unmounted you can begin rooting. MAKE SURE YOU UNMOUNT THE SD CARD OTHERWISE IT MAY BE COMPLETELY ERASED.

4. Now Let's Root

Now Go to the ADB folder. Remember the cmd.exe you pasted there? Click on it.

WINDOWS 7 USERS MAKE SURE BEFORE CLICKING CMD YOU RIGHT CLICK AND CLICK ON 'RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR' AND ALLOW

In the commands write the following:- [Give the exact spaces i have given OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT WORK!!]:-

adb devices (press enter)(after this command you should see your device id)
adb shell (press enter) (after this command you should see $ sign)
$ echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf, (press enter)

DO NOT CLOSE THE WINDOW JUST MINIMIZE IT!!

Now go to Where you extracted Superoneclick and click on superoneclick.exe.

In the window on the Top Left hand Side of the window there will be an option 'ROOT'.
CLick on it!

When the process completes you will see a Dialog box asking that the rooting is done and if you want to install Superuser, click on OK both times. After this make sure YOU RESTART YOUR DEVICE. Once you restart you will see a new app as Superuser in the Menu. Click on it and click allow when it prompts.

Hence, you have a rooted Optimus Net do whatever you want

Just use unlockroot.exe from xxx unlockroot com, I rooted my Net10 LG Optimus Net LGl45c within 5 minutes and didn't have to do anything special as described above. I rooted mine to use GameCIH2 and so far has worked great with no lag or unexpected errors.

edit: I also didn't encounter the root process hanging on any steps like superoneclick 2.2 and above (just read the comments on shortfuse (.org)

Everytime I follow the directions for SOC it says ...
Code:
[+] Rush did it ! It's a GG, man !
[+] Killing ADB and restarting as root... enjoy!
and stays hung up on "Shell rooting device... -Step #7 WaitForDevice"

Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Ive tried leaving root method set to auto, I've tried changing it to zergRush. Always hangs up in the same spot whether I use SOC 2.3.1, 2.3.2, or 2.3.3 Nothing seems to be working.

It is true. The steps did not work to root this phone. BUT, if you do use unlockroot from unlockroot.com, it will root your phone and you will be able to finally run the root programs from the market and what not to play around and customize your phone. I have had mine rooted for almost three months now and I love it!!!!

There's a simple method to root LG Optimus Net P690 (Android 2.3.4):
It's complete rooting guide to root LG Optimus Net with 'UnlockRoot'.

1. Download and install 'Unlock Root' on your PC from here: Unlock Root of Android

2. Download LG Android Drivers from here: http://www.junefabrics.com/bin2/LGDriver.exe
Reastart your PC after installing drivers.

3: On your phone, Check 'USB Debugging'. Path: Menu > Settings > Applications >
Development > Tick 'USB Debugging'.

4. Again on phone, Unmount your SD Card. Go to: Menu > Settings > Storage > Tap on
'Unmount SD Card'. It'll give you a warning. Just press OK.

5. Connect your phone with PC. Phone will ask you to 'Turn on USB Storage'. DO NOT TURN IT
ON!
You should see this message on phone's notification bar: 'USB Debugging connected'.

6. On your PC, open UnlockRoot.exe ( A shortcut should be created on your desktop )
or Path: X:\Program Files\Unlockroot

7. Press root button! After process completes, it'll ask you to install 'Superuser.apk' and
'Bettery Sever.apk'. Just press OK. Then you'll be asked to reboot your phone. Press
OK. After reboot completes, go to menu and you'll find Superuser app there.

Congratulations! You've rooted your LG Optimus Net P690!
This worked on mine and will work on yours also.

anyone know where i can download the device drivers? so the pc can recognize the optimus net?

I have the link for you, but as a brand new member I can't post it yet as a link. But maybe in long form:

www . lg . com / us / support - mobile / lg - LGL45C

Just copy the above into your browser's address bar and remove the spaces between the dots, forward slashes, hyphens and words. It should take you to the page where you can download manuals in .pdf format and the drivers for your phone. One will be the unified driver and the other will be the android driver.

I'm brand new, so I cant post an actual link but I'll try it in long hand.

www dot lg dot com forward slash us forward slash support hyphen mobile forward slash lg hyphen LGL45C.

Just insert the dots, forward slashes and hyphens where I've listed them. It should take you to the page where you can download manuals and drivers for your phone.

There's a simple method to root LG Optimus Net P690 (Android 2.3.4):
It's complete rooting guide to root LG Optimus Net with 'UnlockRoot'.

I tried using unlockroot and it said unable to chmod root utility.

I tried using the adb method with superoneclick and it hung on step seven and I couldn't install superuser or busybox.

I tried using gingerbreak installed on the phone - nothing happened.

I haven't tried the adb method for gingerbreak but I wonder if even THAT will work now that my phone has the updated firmware (LGL45CT2).

Hi MDonah,

My guide is only for LG Optimus Net/Spirit/Link P690, not for LG L45C.

I googed about your problem but found nothing. You should ask other experts by creating a new thread. :)
