Help Add words to custom dictionary?

Does anyone know how to add words to the XT9 dictionary on the Warp? Or if it's even possible? I've found multiple threads on adding words but none of the solutions seem to apply to the Warp: either they refer to nonexistent Settings submenu's or nonexistent features or simply say that XT9 will remember it eventually, which it isn't for me. I'm finally getting used to XT9 but do I just need to get a new keyboard app? It's getting incredibly frustrating, it even changes 'gmail' to 'email' making logging in places with my email irritating as hell.

Thanks in advance.

Would you mind linking to this? It doesn't show up as available in search results on my phone. Are you talking about this one?

That s the correct one. Now to install and use it you have to go through your settings and put a tick/check mark in the box. If you simply open up messanger the option to use the keyboard will not be available until going through settings>keyboard ;)

Here is a suggestion.....download GINGERBREAD KEYBOARD. It is free from the market and a wayyyyyyyy better keyboard.

Does anyone know if the Paid version ($1.99) "collects personal information" including "passwords and credit card numbers" like the Free version does? I couldn't find any info readily available on this topic; I don't really want sensitive data like that collected, and on top of THAT it also requests permission to collect AUDIO CAPTURES as well (like... your calls!). WTF and WTF DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ME TYPING?! I understand you "get what you pay for," but these were a dealbreaker for me.

Any other good keyboard apps out there (i.e. ones that don't do that and are still functional??) I've had the Warp for going on three weeks now and typing is still just as frustrating as the day I got it. Tonight, I picked up that old, trusty, beat-up Incognito of mine and pounded out a couple of not-going-anywhere-in-particular text messages out and ahhh, it felt so right! I'm almost thinking of picking up a new one of those (getting cheap now!) or at least getting my hands on a Transform Ultra for a bit... #touchscreentypingihateit

I don't recall any of that being requested when I downloaded it.....maybe someone who downloaded it recently can verify

So, I wasn't to find anything about the keyboard app specifically, but I did come across this facebook page after some Googling, which is somewhat comforting:

So, the audio capture would be for voice input -- makes sense for a keyboarding app, I guess. I'm still uneasy about the part where all of your keystrokes, including passwords and credit cards, are recorded. However, GO Keyboard requests the same permissions; at least they don't explicitly state that sensitive info like that would be recorded. Guess it's standard? :\

Every keyboard will warn you the same way when it is being enabled. The warning is being shown to you courtesy of Android, to make you aware the keyboard app could, potentially, remember these things and beam them up to the Mother Ship. But if recent news has taught me anything, it's that every phone in existence is beaming something up to the mothership anyway.

Also, in regards to XT9 sucking, and FlexT9 hardly being better, there is a simple solution. Both were bought out by a large, apparently masochistic company named Nuance, which hasn't quite mastered dictionaries yet. FlexT9 used to be ShapeWriter, which was arguably much better.

Unfortunately Swype has also fallen prey to Nuance, which immediately released a version which regressed upon some of its latest touted features, uglified the user interface with orange highlights, and started adding "anonymous" usage statistic collection. Do I still use it? Yes, unfortunately, it's still the best out there.

Whether you install a keyboard... whatever keyboard that warning comes up because if the source of this keyboard is malicious then yes anything you type can be recorded... but it's not because the warning shows up that you have to worry.... just keep to polar keyboards that are available on Google play....

Sorry didn't realise that was already answered by primetech
