What is a "woot-off"?

Woot typically sells one item a day, but during a Woot-Off they sell a few of one item until it's gone; then it's replaced by a new item. Some hang out for a while; others go quickly.

Refresh every so often to see if it's changed -- the yellow & gray bar will help indicate the stock remaining.

The battery actually part of the Black Exodus theme. I think he may have changed it when he updated it to run with AOKP 17. I'll let you know.

Ok, that's weird. I remember playing with the avoid poor connections option before (probably when I was on 4.0.1, GSM), but I can no longer find the option in settings either. I'm now on stock 4.0.2 (GSM) and maybe it was taken out for some reason...

Just click on the weather icon on the stock widget. It's pretty sweet with some nice animation. Not as slick as Sense, but close. When our Flyer was unlocked (just turning it on) when it was snowing out, the whole screen kind of cracked and had snow flakes on it. Pretty cool stuff!

Hmm, I've got the SuperClock widget, and when I click on it, it goes to my Alarms, which I actually quite like.

Discovered one VERY ANNOYING new addition with Android 4.0: You MUST have a PIN or Pattern unlock in order to have a Security Certificate on your phone to connect to a secure Wireless connection. This blows.

That was the problem that I ran into when I was trying to set up a corporate email and it locked my phone up... BECAREFUL....

Yes, they work fine. I've been using them like crazy - see the earlier discussion in this thread from last week about them, and the various uses. WAY cool stuff with these tags! (especially when used in conjunction with Tasker!) I use NFC Launcher generally to call up a Tasker task (a series of actions, such as setting volume, screen timeout, wifi on/off, BT on / off, open multiple programs, etc etc.) and do all my customization in Tasker rather than on the tag itself. I find that easier, and more convenient when testing.

Just got mine in yesterday, but have not had time to set the new tags up yet. But I will be doing the same....program the tag to call up the Tasker profile.

and on a side note....an ifan here at work was SHOCKED to see the Nexy programmed using the nfc as my work badge.....just walked through the door, when he was still trying to get his badge to read on the card reader... the nexy works perfect!! I used NFC Launcher to read my work badge, and recorded the programming that is currently in the badge....and the phone works just like my badge, except that I don't even have to touch the reader, i can be within 4ft of the reader....and it works!!

I just wanted to vent as the battery life and poor signal are just getting to me. I was talking to a coworker that just bought the rezound and I had him pull up his battery usage and Android OS was only using 3% vs 62% on my GNex. I will take my phone off the charger at 7am and by 1pm I will be at 40% with hardly any use.

I know a lot of you will tell me i should root it, try a rom, etc and maybe i should but the reality is the phone should work properly out of the box.

I already exchanged it once and I'm hoping Google will put out an update soon but after owning the TB and having to manage my day around my phone's battery is getting old.

Yeah, 2-3% is normal for a Rezound. No doubt it'll be normal for the GNex as well after a fix -- the sooner the better!

But 62% is way over typical for the GNex -- usually around 25% from what I've seen. Is it set for 4G and struggling to maintain it? Cutting back to 3G/CDMA mode should save a lot in that case.

It is beyond me why anyone would NOT want to secure their phone, but I guess there are plenty of people out there in Nexus Land who see no need to. And that's fine. In case of of loss or theft, though, I want to make sure that anyone finding my phone will have a hard time logging in: until I make it impossible for them by locking it with Lookout. Yep, tried face unlock once. I tried it in a very dimly lit room and it didn't work. Got rid of it quite fast

I quite like face unlock. No, it's not infallible and it does poorly in various lighting conditions, but I find it works more often than not. Considering what a pain it was for me to pattern unlock my Droid dozens of times throughout the day, face unlock saves me considerable time getting into my phone on average. Again, to each their own, but I had to throw it a little defense

I do put a lock pattern on if I'm on vacation or doing a lot of shopping. That way I feel better knowing its secure.

Face unlock requires me to take a direct shot of my face and in typical female fashion I do not like that angle so I won't use it.

On the OG Droid, I had to set up a pattern lock to establish a connection with our company's Exchange server (a server-side requirement), but once I set up the account, I simply disabled the pattern lock screen and everything worked fine. I guess the server was content that I had a pattern set but never checked that it was actively being used.

My phone is very rarely anywhere besides my pants pocket, especially when I'm not home. If I'm in my apartment, it's on my pocket or on my night table.
