Root [Boost Mobile] Testers wanted

you need a custom recovery for that

edit: I'll try it out I guess

edit 2: I'll try it out tomorrow. However I'm a little nervous so if anyone tries it be4 me, then I will be happy to know if it works out or not lol

can i just put the image on the sd card and enter recovery and update from sd
No it will not work.
The REASON it doesn't work it because we don't have the ZTE keys to sign the zip. The stock recovery will recognize it, but will just abort when the signature can't be verified. That is why custom recovery (or some mission impossible sh** at ZTE, lol) is needed to be able to flash anything on this phone.

damn i cant get it to flash for some reason it fails can i just put the image on the sd card and enter recovery and update from sd

without a custom recovery we cant do that right now.. which is why we're working on one... so far the only way is using adb fastboot. Ima try rebuilding the recovery, i think i got the architecture wrong when building it, did the same thing sebastian did, built it for armeabi instead of armeabi-v7a

I'll test it out when I get home to my PC. About 3.5 hrs.

Just so everyone knows even if it fails miserably it wont brick your phone. Just reflash stock recovery and your GTG. The hardest part to all this is getting the drivers to work. After that its super easy.

Yea, your right, especially when I dont have a warp to pull all the drivers out of... Using the kernel from the b08 update that u posted on forums to do all this, so hopefully it all works

ok i have command prompt open but it wont read my phone in ftm mode

you need to download the drivers from the OP, the original post, I'll repost them here if need be:

hopefully those work for you, there are suggestions further up in the thread also such as this one from woodstock:

Yeah that was where I had the problem too. Its gonna sound stupid but i just moved my usb from the front usb to a back usb on the PC and it let me intall the drivers in the first link.
