GS2KernelWipe Script

You're an absolute star hawker.

Ever since I flashed neak and noticed the max clock wouldn't stay where my script was supposed to put it after boot, my phones been weirder than, well me. I've always been kind of old fashioned and clear the caches and delete the scripts manually but after reflashing siyah and deleting init.d scripts about 10 times the max clock was always 1200 after reboot and all the other crazy stuff still continued. I'm beginning to think neak unwittingly put some hidden script in there that I couldn't see to delete. So once with the cleaning script, reflash siyah and job done.

I think there was/is a problem with the way NEAK executes the files in the init.d folder. If I remember rightly, it only executed files beginning with 2 numbers (or something like that) so S* scripts (and hence voltage control's S91voltctrl) were being ignored in the startup procedure.

I think I remember seeing in the NEAK thread that this will be fixed in 1.4, so I'm not entirely sure if 1.3.2 would have addressed this yet.

Yeah I think I remember reading that. The problem was it persisted after changing the kernel to siyah. All logic should've said stick a different kernel on, it should be able to read it, but here we are.

GSCleanV1.3 is now available
Download

Does the following
1. wipes cache+dalvik cache
2. removes all startup scripts from system/etc/init.d
3. removes old kernel-specific files (currently void, siyah and neak are supported)
4. removes /data/user.log
5. re-wipes cache+dalvik cache

Thanks hawker old bean!

You're not just a pretty face***

Would it be possible to put the direct link to this version in your first post so that people don't have to wade through this thread, please.

Cheers!

*** Edit. "Just", should read, "even". :D

Isn't it strange how people get fussier with age!

lol

I think I'll be sticking with the Wiper since I have no idea what startup scripts this AndyX rom uses o_O

Open up your rom zip file with 7zip, then go into system/etc/init.d
select all those files and drag them onto the desktop
then create a zip file of those files you placed on the desktop
give me a link to this file, and I will create a flashable zip for you
