Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Chief - one word, DroidWall.

Free in the Market.
Early, I hope you haven't left us just yet. A few pages back I posted about how I tried activating DroidWall and cut off my data connection. At the risk of sounding extremely stupid, how... do I use this app properly?
Hey hey everyone :)

Is is a sin to be on this forum using a Macbook pro?

Still no Nexus hacking.

On a quick note, has anyone set up ADB on their Mac? And or RSD lite?
No sin at all buddy, I'm right there with you. 15 inch MacBook Pro here. :) And yes I did set up ADB, as well as Android File Transfer. Worked like a charm. I'm a little disappointed that Macs don't get the One Click Root tool, but it was easy enough to root. If you need an easy guide, here's a link:

Okay, you have compelling reasons to root your Nexi and that's great! Glad you're enjoying it! And I have reasons that compel me to stay stock... and that's great too!

So stock or rooted, there are reasons on both sides to stay where we're at or switch sides at will. The Nexus community clearly has room for everyone :D

Oh BTW: I just got back from the theater watching Red Tails. It is uplifting, inspirational and action-packed. The producers paid meticulous attention to every detail, and it truly feels like the 1940s all over again. The special effects are so special that you really don't realize you're looking at them... and that's the best kind of special effect there is. It should be the movie of the year, but it won't be because Hollywood can't stand George Lucas. But I can't recommend it enough. Don't wait for the DVD: although it will still be great, a motion picture of this scale can truly be appreciated for what it is on the big screen!

Sorry I missed that. :(

Does that happen when you whitelist everything?

I have heard of it not working if it can't set up iptables, but that is an odd case.

So I had to buy the Tapatalk app just to use PM and see my Avatar and screenies. I can't believe that the Phandroid App is letting me down and that others aren't experiencing my issue. Anyway...loving AOKPb21!

Family crisis is still looming but I am finally sleeping.

@razor: thanks for the RSS! Loved some of those reads!

@BB: Tapatalk is rocking my world, even if I can't tell who is gold ;):p

@jbdan: are you on 1.7.4 lean?

@early: why won't the phandroid app work??? I mean I am over it for now!

I wrote a response and then deleted it. I wrote another response then deleted that one. After the third try to write something that wouldn't get me banned I gave up.
;)

And that was why i wrote it. I knew it would be difficult for many to come up with something that was pg-13 :p

I opted to avoid jobs that involve glitter.

I'm sure that's quite a feat since you've been around so long.

P.S. - my glitter is from scrapbooking :D

A wise choice. ;)

I didn't know that strippers made scrap books. :p

Morning everyone!
I was hoping to bump this. I read the description in the Market and still can't make sense of it. I have unlimited data so don't need to control that but being able to further manage battery life has me interested.
Hoping Early, or someone else can chime in on how to use it.

I may be hard to spot without my glitter. :D

Need more info on the failure and whatnot.

And I did run a kernel once that didn't like it, will have to go back and see what that was about - that seems to have been a while back.

On the contrary, I think it was because I hadn't whitelisted anything. So I think I understand why the browser and other data-reliant apps weren't functioning, but if I just have everything whitelisted, what exactly is the app doing? Does that make sense? Again, apologies if this sounds dense.

Whitelisting everything is a diagnostic step to tell me that it's not borking your phone just by being installed. ;)

But I think that you have the idea now, blacklist to block, whitelist to allow.
