Lookout is claiming that stuff wasn't malware, it was simply using AirPush advertising and Symantec didn't know how to deal with it.

Others are saying who cares, why take the chance, while still others are saying, now that Google knows, it'll be off the Market anyways.

Meanwhile, yours truly will repeat the mantra I started about a certain app back in the epic thread: control your phone, control your apps.

Ok, let's remember, we got a number of complaints for gun talk in the epic thread, if those crop up again, we'll have to restrict that. Yeah, I know, bad mod. But now that everyone knows me, I get to share having a carry permit, and far preferring my wheel guns anymore to my autoloaders. (We really are puddycats on staff, even if we seem too liberal at times.) Want to do bad things to nice people? Want to not?

Anyway, please try to all stay pals and work that out among yourselves, cheers, thanks.

And we do have a 2nd Amendment thread in Politics and Current Affairs if anyone really wants to drill into that subject.

I would hope there wouldn't be any complaints. I would hope at this point if someone had a problem they would present their side. And if its people complaining that aren't contributing in any way and we had to stop because of them I would be even more disappointed in that judgement call. And that's not just about the gun topic, it goes for any topic. Just my thought on it though.
I do have to say I like finding out these tidbits about everyone.

I'm going to have to look into using droidwall.

While I can't carry, my home is my castle. My friend, a homicide detective, fixed me up with a 9mm S&W, a 38 Ruger and a 12-gauge. With training of course. And a couple of nice knives. So far, so good.

I'm using conservative. 350 min, 920 max. Getting great battery. And the only minute lag on occasion is when I first unlock. But its momentary.

Happy to chill the weaponry banter if ANYone is uncomfortable. I would hope, as BB said, that if anyone feels put off one iota, just speak up. I 100% respect opposing views (although this is really more show and tell than anything political). Since this is a Lounge area, with miles of O.T. chatter, I hope that we are within limits and not stepping on anyone's toes.

Anyway, I think my magazine is empty now.

Just my guess at context.

If you want to try to guess what that weird pistol was Decker carried in Bladerunner, Film/TV lounge would be best ; discussing the merits of character weapons in video games would go best in (you guessed it) Games.

General interest guns threads ok in the Lounge, we've had many before and will again.

This particular banter seemed more personal protection and political from the posts so far, so I thought maybe people didn't know we have some good threads for that in the Political area.

Just pretty much what you would expect from mod staff for recommendations.
