That's true... Like I've said multiple times I'm not expecting anything from moto and especially nothing from VM it would be nice, and more stable than other roms, but most likely won't happen. Even if they did come out with 2.3 update I don't know that I would update, cuz I like the features of cm7, maybe if they came out with a ICS update I would. But yea I'm not expecting anything from VM especially considering it took them like half a year to update the Intercept to 2.2 which was just 1 os version newer and when 2.3 was already rolling out...

Edit: also I know that almost all the updates for every phone aren't even official they are all made by the community not the company, if companies would release source codes it would make it so much easier, especially since they don't seem to care at all.

Ok, I agree with you there, but IF they did release an update to the Triumph for GB, then we could rob all the glitchy things needed to make the port of CM7 work better. That would be the reason why I would want it.

That's true... And that's if their GB update if there is one is any better than their froyo rom. The only thing that might be worth getting is HDMI as well as maybe being able to make it so it deep sleeps with wifi on.

that or we could make a petition, and each of us sign it 50-100 times by a different name each time... :D that would give them a scare. although we faked it

We wouldn't need to fake sigs... I'm sure there are hundreds if people who would be willing to sign it. Personally I'm thinking of switching to tmo's $30 month, its $5 more, but I would get 5gb of 4g, unlimited texting, granted its only 100 minitues a month for talking but I don't even talk that much. And with that you can use any tmo phone...

I got grandfathered into the $25 plan... will I get 5gb of data? Or will I have to pay more for more data? I'm confused

I have the $25 plan too... I'm talking about going to T-mobile though... I'm seriously debating it. They have better phones and it would be $5 more a month, but worth it, for better and faster service. And if I do I'm still keeping my MT.

I'm hoping you aren't trolling, if this is true I'm glad we heard something from them. We'll finally have a good O.S. on our phones.
A troll I have never been. I wrote them specifically about the MT, and that was the response to my most recent email. It is not the first email I have written to VM Customer Care.

Mind you, if you can compose a well crafted email - make it sincere, succinct and easy to follow; you might just get a reply with some information that is new to you. While this did come from a customer care representative, trust me, they are aware of our situation - that we've been waiting, some of us for 7months now.

There's no use in threatening. Just ask them politely if there is going to be an update, and what time-frame you can expect it in. Go to their website and click on the Contact Us link. Submit an email there.

The response gives me hope. You try and update us as to the response you receive.

It seems that VM has upgraded their data routing and I'm getting better speeds at work during business hours now, others have mentioned in another forum their traffic is being routed to SF instead of Oklahoma like before. I used to get less than 100kbps, just now it was 900kbps.

Wow I just did a speed test and I'm getting like 200-300 Kbps down and 300-600 Kbps up. Compared to before where I would get under a hundred down and like 100-300 up. Not a great improvement, but it looks like they did something... I have noticed the last few days my data was wonky and sometimes wouldn't connect...

Actually we, the consumer, have all the right to demand anything we want. With something that wouldn't take all that much effort from the company like a software update, we can demand it all we want. We are the ones who provide the money that lets VM stay a business and survive and if they get threatened enough I'm sure they'll do something. I personally don't care, because I know VM... It would be nice to actually get an official update, but we will eventually have an unofficial port anyways so in the long run it doesn't really matter, but VM thinks we all are still on 2.2 (probably not but still), so to get a software update, is not that big of a demand really every company does it (pretty much)...

the most frustrating part is that the triumph comes with stock android. How hard can it be for them to at least give us stock gingerbread.

Its lame that bothe the optimus slider and wildfire have 2.3 installed when you buy it and their most expensive or platform phone have 2.2.

Surprisingly they didn't have 2.2. But I think the only reason they don't is since they aren't VM exclusive, so they just used the newest OS version that was available for them since it would be easier for VM to do.

Another reason VM should be releasing older mid-level phones (like the Optimus V) that have their bugs worked out rather than new cheap models that haven't been on the market before. Also popular phone lines get more attention for upgrades from manufacturers, and less work for VM to port those upgrades to their phones.

Lets make a complaint or bumbard them with emails they have other high end phone that I'm pretty sure they will receive the ics why not the triumph this phone actually needs the update . It should be priority to them and this phone is actually pretty exspensive.
Lets do this were is the email !
We can do an online petition!

Actually this phone is pretty cheap... And this is the highest end phone they have. Supposedly its getting a gingerbread update which is a start.

300 is pretty pricey for a phone that is pretty defective. I mean it has all the materials..
Where did you hear about the gb up date? Your saying a OTA update of gb

I heard those expecting the ics are being charged a small fee. There is a guy in class that has the update ready all he needs to do is pay the fee

Actually if this was on a post paid carrier even with all the problems I wouldn't be surprised if it $400-$500 off contract... And If you read this thread there's a couple posts about someone emailing VM and saying they were working on GB.

And what do you mean those expecting ICS have to pay a small fee?

don't know for sure but the guy In class today told me he was waiting to get paid to up date his phone to ics he is pretty excited! he has an HTC with 2.3 running. I'll get more details tomorrow. But if there is a small fee who cares;) worth it IMO. I must admit I did get jealous.;)

Maybe he is paying someone to install a custom rom on it. I can get ICS right now oin my HTC MT4GS by rooting and installing a custom recovery and rom, but I need to get my account figured out first, plus I've never used sense before. But that's what it sounds like. A rom is free, but if you want someone else to do it then yea a lot of people are like that and will charge.

For all the people on here saying we're not in the position to demand anything, you're wrong. All we have to do is say if you won't update our phones, we'll cancel our service. That's what I'm emailing them right now. I don't think a company like VM would want to lose customers.

I'm tempted to Write them and tell them that I'm going to a different network, and get a BlackBerry, which has system wide adjustable font sizes, Unless they update my Triumph with ICS, which has the same. For me it's part of the whole accessibility thing. Google has fixed this with iCS, now VMUSA and Motorola should do the same. Also, I shouldn't be forced to root my phone to get this functionality, as that voids my warranty anyway. But I really don't think threatening is the answer, unless it's tactful, like the letter at the beginning of this thread.
