Hello all! Here it is Broken Out Rom!!! It has been fully cleaned out to decrease size and to increase speed. It will continue to be a work in progress! I hope you all enjoy!!!

What is this?
This is a very lightweight rom built both for speed and stability. This rom is based off of the latest Pantech OTA version of Gingerbread. It is fully deodexed, and debloated. Almost all of Pantech has been replaced and as time goes by, I hope to remove the rest. Swype has also been changed to the 3.26 Beta. A few items have been replaced with AOSP versions to increase speed and decrease size. Also included is the appwidgetpicker to clean that up.

Sweet, a real ROM! Thanks!

Couple mild issues though:
1. It seems that the Power Control widget doesn't work for me, the icons aren't displayed on the bar, and it doesn't do anything. Not really essential since the notification bar does most of the same things, but i suppose it's a bug.

2. I guess it's a personal thing but the ICS theme for Swype is really hard to look at. I uninstalled and re-installed the beta to get the default theme. Along the same lines, I feel like the Notification area is a bit too blue, even the real ICS doesn't use ALL blue for it. I would have made the text under each indicator white so that the icon is a different color than the surrounding text when it is On. That confused me at first; I thought white was On instead of Off because it was different.

3. Is the CRT animation a different one than what's in Cyanogen? Either it's not working, or it's only very subtly different than what the phone used to do.

I know it sounds like a negative review, but i'm actually really happy someone put something out for this phone. Definitely going to donate when i get the chance!

Thanks for the feedback!

1) I figured out the power control widget. Will have a fix up soon
2) Ya, I was thinking I had some extra blue in there lol. I have got another themed swype that I think will look nice.
3) Animations are turned off by default. Go to settings-display-animations to enable. I had added some other animations that I may take out as some of them seem a bit laggy, but try it out and let me know what you think!

I may get an update together for tonight with these little fixes.

Alright i've been checking out the Animations. They seem to perform alright, although i'm not really a fan of all the sliding and resizing. I would personally ditch the animation that moves the lock screen to the right when you unlock the phone and make the dialogs do a simple fade or something instead of flying down the screen. An option for just the CRT thing would do fine too haha. For the theme, my own personal suggestion is just to make the notifications (or their subtitles) and the indicator's subtitles white instead of blue.

You know what, nevermind, i'm just going to make my own theme. After looking in to what i actually want to do, it's not even that hard, just XML editing.

The ROM is great so far, especially for a first release. My biggest problem so far is the launcher. Lots of force closes, and unusable if you use Beautiful Widgets. I know that's not your problem, though, so I'm just warning others. I'm sure the developers will be fixing it's issues soon. I did have to do a battery pull when using the browser. It could be that everything is still settling in.
I definitely agree that you should remove the majority of Pantech apps. I just don't like Pantech's Phone & Messaging especially.
Excellent work.

Awesome! Cant wait to try this!

Just one question.. I rooted with SuperOneClick and installed the Recovery created by Getitnowmarketing, so... is your ROM Recovery specific, or should it work for me as well?

Thanks for all your hard work on this under-appreciated phone!

To be honest with you, I'm not sure lol. I always use CWM as that's what I have always used. My scripts use edify scripting so theoretically it should work, but sometimes there is a difference between theory and reality lol. The only 2 options I would guess are 1) try, and if it doesn't work then restore a backup or 2) install CWM and do another backup and then install. If you try option 1, let me know if it works! Thanks!

Was able to flash the ROM with no problems! So far so good, very zippy an stable so far. ..and personally, I LIKE the themes, even Swype. It's easier for my old eyes to see than the stock layout. lol

Thanks again!

is this based on the absolute latest update??? i know you answered me in your other thread, i like seeing firmware versions lol if so, any chance you got just a rooted rom of the latest update without being customized??? i'd rather customize it myself to my likings...if at all possible, keep up the good work though!!

This is based off of the latest update, yes. The post update Rom is supposed to be just that and flashes fine for me but does not include the boot.IMG which this one does. You could try flashing this then the stock over top if you would like. Let me know if it works!

Hi Michaleson,
Thanks for your hard work! Can't wait to install the ROM, but will this erase all of my phone data such as contact info? Will it also erase all apps?
Thanks again!:)

Back up your apps with Titanium Backup then easy peasy to restore them. Google will restore your Contacts, but I also like to go to:

Contacts/Menu/More/Import Export/Export to SD Card

..and manually back them up as well.

I am having bootloop issues too. I was running 1.0 and I rebooted. Went into a bootloop. I got through the Pantech boot logo and to the boot animation, but part way through the animation it would reboot. The first time this happened I was able to get it to boot somehow. Unfortunately, I don't remember what I did. Today it happened and the only way out was to get into recovery and restore a backup of my stock rom. I tried flashing 1.1 after wiping everything, but the same thing is happening. Any advice? The rom was great while I had it running, but I can't get out of this bootloop without going back to my stock backup.
