Before I start my thoughts about the Zagg, this is kinda funny, over 5 weeks after I ordered it, and over 3 weeks after repeated calls and e mails to them, Skinomi finally called back and said they will re ship it lol. (wasn't worth the hassle to get a refund) The Skinomi was the one I wanted anyway, so I might switch.
Anyway, about the Zagg, they delivered in a reasonable amount of time, about 5 days, so no problem there. I only put the back piece on, so I really can't comment on the screen protector. Also, I got the full body (easy install), not the max protect like the Cricket Users video shows. I didn't really think I needed it to go around the sides, I just want to be able to set my phone down on a table or slide it in and out of my pocket without worrying about scratching the back. Also messing with all of those flaps and holes for the buttons and ports looked like a major PITA. LOL. This one covers the whole back, right to the edge where the sides square off. It's kinda cool how it forms to the curved part, even though it's one solid piece.
Installation wasn't too bad, I watched a few YouTube videos first to pick up some tips. I would say make sure you have time to go slow and not rush trying to put this thing on, make sure you have plenty of light, and be gentle with the squeegee. It doesn't take much pressure. Also, I took the back off first. The way this phone is designed, I don't see any reason not to, and you don't have to worry about the liquid going into the speaker holes. The corners take a little persuasion to make them stick, but nothing too crazy.
I have mixed feelings about the way this thing looks. It definitely has that "orange peel" effect that everyone talks about, but not like an actual orange, more like if you spray paint something and use way too much paint. It feels smooth to the touch, though. Weird. I showed it to my brother, and he said it looked like I shellacked my phone. That's not a bad description. It feels like a rubber coating. The first couple days, it felt kind of tacky, but it seems like it gets harder, or cures or something after a few days. It cuts down on fingerprints a little bit, but it seems like they are harder to wipe off. One cool thing is the little scratches I already had are invisible now. I definitely think this is good scratch protection. No way is anything getting through this stuff to scratch the phone. I'm not sure I would like this rubber coated feeling on my screen, but part of me wants to put it on just because I paid for it lol.
Overall, I think this is a good product. It does what it says it will do, it is well made, (the sizing is EXTREMELY precise. Seriously, there's probably like a millimeter to work with here), and it feels really durable. I'm not completely sold on the orange peel effect, but that's personal preference. A lot of people obviously like it, because they sell the hell out of these things. Hope this was informative. Anybody has any questions, feel free to ask.
