Making a thread for the accessories on the Mercury & Honor since they are interchangeable.

First are the Batteries. Doubt any one here needs one or these.

Phone covers:
There are a range on ebay from soft gel to hard plastic.
I myself purchased this one

Skinomi

Industrial polycarbonate plastic and high density shock absorbing silicone my ass!
the material for the plastic seems like it was made from plastic cups and the silicone does not wrap around like a glove its loose as well. Silicone feels so cheap and has no thickness to absorb any damage. Probably made from used condoms, ewwwwwwwww.

Damn that really sucks, I hate companies like that. Such a small item and they disappear without a trace. Hopefully you do get the Zagg asap. Im debating on getting one myself but kinda iffy on which to get, I now know not to go with skinomi.

Lol! I swear if you listen closely you can hear the phone moving around in the case on that video! If you are going to use that case, you better put something in there to keep it from moving around or that will scratch the hell out of your phone.
It's super unprofessional for Skinomi to not even respond. I realize they can't control what happens after it gets shipped out, but to just ignore a customer is ridiculous. Oh well karma is a bi*ch. They might lose some sales from anybody that reads this I hope. I was thinking about starting a thread in the lounge about it too. Funny thing is I was reading some older posts about how great their customer service is. They must be slipping.

I made good use of it yesterday. I took it to work and inside of the cover i started to add layers of blue painters tape, so the phone wont move much and it could also be used as a 'cushion' for the phone. Phone doesnt move at all now as well i put the tape double sided style for the rubber. Not the best protector but after working with it its still not the best but it will do. :D
You should at least warn or notify what Skinomi has done, might not have been an expensive item but it is the principle of it. hopefully they do lose some sales due to this.

My sister texted me and said my Zagg came in today. (I had her order it with her CC and had it delivered to her house since my Skinomi went MIA). They said it would come between the 26th and the 1st, and it came on the 26th, so can't beat that. I'll probably wait till the weekend to put it on, since you're supposed to let it dry for a long time, I think like 12 to 24 hours.

I bought this kit for my Mercury. I love the case/holster combo so far! I wish the case snapped on a little tighter but so far I haven't had any problems with it. My only real concern is if the rubber coating will wear off from sliding it in and out of the holster. I haven't tried the included chargers or the cheap screen protector. I only got the chargers because it only cost one dollar more and I've had a zagg on it since day one.

It's a two piece hard plastic cover with a soft touch style coating. I dropped the phone for the first the time the other night. The case popped open and the phone stayed in the bottom half. Not a scratch or anything! All in all it's not a bad setup. The holster holds the case nice and snug but so tight its a hassle.

Personally I'd get a Zagg on there man. The sooner the better :) They go on all my touch screen devices.

Doesnt look bad. Is the phone cover itself a one piece or two piece?

Gmash did you ever put on the Zagg cover? Im thinking of buying one since I noticed that the screen isnt full anti scratch. I noticed a small hairline scratch on mine. IDK how the fawk it got there but i am pissed!
I put it on the back, but not on the screen, didn't think I would need it. Hmm, might have to reconsider. I'm not sure if I would like the feel of this on my screen, though. I can't really give a simple thumbs up or thumbs down, I'll try to write a little review when I get home. If you just want screen protection, though, I'd just get some of the cheap Chinese ones. I bought 5 for like $9 from Amazon for my Ascend, and they worked great. I actually still have 2 I never used. They didn't scratch easily, and you couldn't even tell they were on there. This was after getting ripped off buying one for like $15 from the Cricket store when I bought my phone, and it was scratched up within 2 weeks. I thought they were all like that, that's why I bought a 5 pack. I really only used 2 of them, one I messed up while putting it on lol. I'll never buy something like that from a Cricket store again. All they have is overpriced junk.

Before I start my thoughts about the Zagg, this is kinda funny, over 5 weeks after I ordered it, and over 3 weeks after repeated calls and e mails to them, Skinomi finally called back and said they will re ship it lol. (wasn't worth the hassle to get a refund) The Skinomi was the one I wanted anyway, so I might switch.

Anyway, about the Zagg, they delivered in a reasonable amount of time, about 5 days, so no problem there. I only put the back piece on, so I really can't comment on the screen protector. Also, I got the full body (easy install), not the max protect like the Cricket Users video shows. I didn't really think I needed it to go around the sides, I just want to be able to set my phone down on a table or slide it in and out of my pocket without worrying about scratching the back. Also messing with all of those flaps and holes for the buttons and ports looked like a major PITA. LOL. This one covers the whole back, right to the edge where the sides square off. It's kinda cool how it forms to the curved part, even though it's one solid piece.

Installation wasn't too bad, I watched a few YouTube videos first to pick up some tips. I would say make sure you have time to go slow and not rush trying to put this thing on, make sure you have plenty of light, and be gentle with the squeegee. It doesn't take much pressure. Also, I took the back off first. The way this phone is designed, I don't see any reason not to, and you don't have to worry about the liquid going into the speaker holes. The corners take a little persuasion to make them stick, but nothing too crazy.

I have mixed feelings about the way this thing looks. It definitely has that "orange peel" effect that everyone talks about, but not like an actual orange, more like if you spray paint something and use way too much paint. It feels smooth to the touch, though. Weird. I showed it to my brother, and he said it looked like I shellacked my phone. That's not a bad description. It feels like a rubber coating. The first couple days, it felt kind of tacky, but it seems like it gets harder, or cures or something after a few days. It cuts down on fingerprints a little bit, but it seems like they are harder to wipe off. One cool thing is the little scratches I already had are invisible now. I definitely think this is good scratch protection. No way is anything getting through this stuff to scratch the phone. I'm not sure I would like this rubber coated feeling on my screen, but part of me wants to put it on just because I paid for it lol.

Overall, I think this is a good product. It does what it says it will do, it is well made, (the sizing is EXTREMELY precise. Seriously, there's probably like a millimeter to work with here), and it feels really durable. I'm not completely sold on the orange peel effect, but that's personal preference. A lot of people obviously like it, because they sell the hell out of these things. Hope this was informative. Anybody has any questions, feel free to ask.

Fkn Skinomi.

I ordered the Zagg one right after that post, hehe. I got the full body one, hopefully i dont mess it up because i have a tendency to do so. The way you describe it is kind of making me iffy about it, i used to work a lot with paint so i know what you mean about the orange peel.
hmm i guess i will have to find out personally.

I was looking at the Ghost Armor link and I just noticed they have a matte finish one. I wonder what that looks like. I'd also like to see the carbon fiber and wood designs in person. I was reading the installation instructions for the Ghost Armor, and they say to mix a bowl of soapy water for the installation, and to wrap the cleaning cloth around a card to use as a squeegee. You'd think for the money they could at least include that stuff. (?) The squeegee they include with the Zagg is actually really nice, its made of thick rubber.
