Multiple Calendar Accounts

I have a Nexus One running the stock Android 2.1. I've got my normal gmail account that works flawlessly, and also my company's email hosted on google apps. Both accounts are set up, and both work for email, but only the gmail account seems to be able to sync my calendar.

Is this a limitation of Android, a setting in the calendar, or a problem with the built-in calendar application? If I can't get the corporate calendar to show up, it seems like a pretty big limitation.

can you share your company calender? pull it in via the web then it will get pushed down to the phone? Don't know just thinking thats how me and the wife share calendars and it works awesome. Or are you trying to keep them completely seperate in the same app? Haven't seen anything do that since palm

i have similar questions. android 2.0.1

seems entered events in the calendar on the phone upload to web but entered events on the web dont get to your phone.

Unfortunately, I can't share the company calendar. The only thing I can share is free/busy time -- my IT department controls sharing policy.

I am looking for that unified calendar view. iCal on my Mac (and on the iPhone---COUGH) can do it just fine. I can also see three separate calendars that I share with others on my main gmail account. Why wouldn't I be able to do the same thing for multiple accounts?

I just found this in the Nexus One user's guide:

Some applications, such as Calendar, work only with the first Google Account you add. If you plan to use more than one Google Account with your phone, be sure to sign into the one you want to use with such applications first.

So they acknowledge that it's a limitation. I wonder if (a) it's one that they intend on fixing, or (b) if it can be addressed by installing a 3rd-party calendar application instead.

I was struggling with this same issue, and I finally figured it out!

It's not as slick as I'd like, but hey it does the job and gets me notifications. Basically, all you need to do is to add your other account, in my case, my work account, as a corporate account and use the corporate calendar app. That way you'll have the corporate email and calendar apps syncing through ActiveSync (like MS Exchange) on your phone. Details here Google Sync for your phone. I more or less used the iPhone instructions to figure it out. Basically the one really important detail is that the server to use is m.google.com.

I still wanted to use the gmail app instead of the email app, so I turned off all notifications for the email app. So far it's been working great, but I do have to open two different apps to see work and personal calendars.

Happy to help anyone else that wants to try this setup. Would do a full writeup now, but it's late and I'm tired.

This isn't directly relevant because I was only having problems with multiple Google Calendars on the same Gmail account, but both the inbuilt calendar on my HTC Wildfire and IRT Calendar refused to recognise anything but my default calendar. I tried getting Google Calendar up on the web on the phone though, and lo and behold, all my Google Calendars suddenly start showing up on my phone, so that's a useful tip!
