Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Had a bad day, I've had to PM a few to many mods today. I guess I tried to help where I shouldn't have. I'm not giving up though. I just got to figure it out. In person I am pretty reserved, but I am comfortable around these parts. I like helping folks and am getting the growing pains learning the ropes:(.

Sorry to hear it was a bad day. I'm sure your intentions were in the right place just maybe a little off. And you've seen our mods at work - they're great about advising and helping. As long as you're willing to work with them and learn everyone is happy.

Well said - I choose not to proceed at all. My Nexus is working just fine, never dropped a call, and I am in no hurry to force a mysterious OS update onto her. When Google's ready to release it as an OTA, they will.

Good choice. These type of early "updates" have been known to cause some real problems. Ask anyone that remembers the leaked 2.1 for Eris and they'll most likely agree that jumping into these is a bad idea.

Actually not as bad as I made it out to be. I'm trying to help and the mods recognize that. I just kinda messed up forum etiquette here and there. I've ventured into the unanswered threads forum and I have given some inaccurate answers there (who knew there were phones without notification leds) as well as a snafu here which I already apologized for. Oh well, the price to be paid. I aint changing here or where I try to help. I'll learn as I go.

Finally caught up on all the posts from the last couple days.
BB, I have to admit I like that my car tells me when it wants its oil changed. It also tells me when it needs air in its tires and when the roads might be icy. Its a bit of a know-it-all that way but it is just trying to take good care of my wallet and my safety. Now it is bedtime. My car didn't tell me that!
Good night all.

I need your help, friends - I'm thinking of creating a blog. I've long maligned them as Internet diaries that no one besides the author ever reads, but I guess I've got to move on from 2005 and my LiveJournal stigma, and accept that blogs can be influential social media tools. I think I'd also like a central location where I can express all my thoughts. However, this blog will primarily focus on my two primary interests - baseball (specifically fantasy baseball and advanced statistics) and Android smartphones (specifically the GNex, of course!); but here's the problem - I can't think of a name!

So, open question to all - does anyone have suggestions for a catchy and concise blog name that indicates the blog is about both baseball and phones? You're a clever and creative bunch, I hope you can help me! Thanks in advance. :D

Phoneballs? :p :D

Okay. I'm half asleep but have you thought about twitter? I gave up on blogging, Facebook and G+ but twitter seems to work better for me because I really don't have to stick with a theme. I guess with a blog you don't need to stick with a theme either

I like Diamonds and Droids as well.

I was thinking along the lines of SaberNex or some more creative blend of Sebermetrics and Nexus. Just check with apple the make they haven't patented the process of using the letter x in a way in which you can formulate words, it would really suck to create a successful blog and get hit with a C&D. :D

Hahaha, excellent point. :D

Well, thank you all for your suggestions, but I'm actually going to go ahead and close the submissions box, so to speak; I was chatting with my best friend in the wee hours of the morning and he came up with an idea that sounded great, so I just ran with it. The blog will be called "Call to the Bullpen." :) I'll let you all know when it's up and running!

This will only be the 2nd televised sports game I have actually watched in over 10yrs. We were invited over to a friends for a "football" themed party with a group of Foodie friends....honestly couldn't even tell you what teams are playing...so not sure what to expect with the game, except that they stated in the invite to bring a "football" themed food dish to share....
Superbowl commercials for sure!!!!

Morning everyone!
Going to try and make it a shortish day at work today and get home in time for kick off.
Anywho, what team are our Nexican family rooting for? For me, it's pretty simple...
Pats or GTFO! :p:D

You posted this at 5am ET?!
Then I remembered you keep bakers' hours. OK. But on a Sunday?

I have thought about doing a blog as a father. Of course then I remember it would just be one more way to annoy people about my kids, and I have plenty of those. I have to brag on my son, we took his training wheels off his bike, and then a week later he is riding like a pro. Just hasn't figured out how to get it started on his own yet. But come to think about it, that's a good thing, he can't hop on his bike and head down the road without our knowledge.

Hmm, looks like someone found my blog before it's fully operational - I have one unique page view from someone using Firefox, on Windows, in... Hong Kong. o_O

Captain Ron? :p

There's nothing wrong with a blog for that. Its a voluntary thing to follow. And I doubt you annoy people about your kids.
