Help HP Tablet external storage external hard drive possible?

So... I've got my HP TouchPad up and running with Cyanogenmod 7. Its pretty damn awesome so far if you ask me.

Anyway... Is there a way to get more storage for this tablet? Can I connect an external hard drive, or a USB thumb drive? I did some searches for this and didn't seem to find anything specific for this device.

It would be nice to get an external SSD hard drive, a laptop drive, or a lot of cheap USB drives to store video and other files on. It would be nice if the storage drive could be easily hooked to the Touchpad and the files able to be access directly or copied as needed to the Touchpad (this is obviously less desireable).

Or perhaps one of those SD card readers with a microUSB interface. It would be like a mini external floppy drive and you could swap out SD cards or MicroSD cards at will.

And sorry if this has been posted 1000 times or its elsewhere someplace obvious. I did perform some due diligence with Google on this and couldn't find anything.

colchiro, Its 32gb. thanks for the links, ill check it out.

jericko, good to know about box.net. i will check it out.

i was thinking it would be cool to have some huge USB drive (500gb maybe) with a ton of movies and music on it. i know cloud is nice, but this would eliminate bandwidth issues.

If you sign up for a Box.net account you get 50 gigs, which is pretty awesome.

How did you get the 50gb for free? I went to box.net, which forwarded me to box.com, which wants to charge me $19.99 a month for 50gb.

For that price I'll setup my own server in my house and just use that. I'll make my own cloud dammit! And it won't have a puny 50GB limit either. :p

Sorry, you need to do it though WebOS. I just did my Wife's TP last week and got the 50 gigs. Once you have the account setup, you can access via the web from a PC, or Android, there is a app. Here is some info:

Hope that helps.

I think this deal may be dead. I just went to box.net from my wifes tp and can only score 5gig. Am i missing something?

I did it about 2 weeks ago and it worked fine. It also let me invite others from my work email. I had to change to my business email to to so as it know a gmail address was not for business. Here's what I did that I think you did different. First download the BOX app on to WebOS and access that way. Through the app and not the browser. Should fix you right up. Just dont use the same email you signed up with before... ;)

Boot to WebOS .
Go to HP market or whatever it's called
download and install box net
run it and sign up for an account

Bam! 50 gb free

and I can log in on android and see all 50 gigs no problem . I tested it on my phone and on my hp tablet . the test worked great

Also I found a great android app called File Expert that is both a local file manager and a way to access files in the cloud.

So, id still like to have a small (deck of cards sized? Maybe two or three?) With a laptop hard Drive or a bunch of ssd drives or something that gives about 500gb. I want to load it up with media and carry it around. Ill look into it and report back.

Also I may want to setup my own server and make my own "cloud". This actually seems pretty easy.
