OK, So I've got the old 1.3.0.IH4 version installed, which has successfully downloaded and installed the official galaxy updates (twice). Which as far as I'm concerned is all that I'd ever use it for.
Does this new version do anything new/better? Are the drivers updated in any way...
(Ok I could install it myself, but I generally try to avoid filling up the registry on my old laptop.... If it aint broke etc..)
Just noticed that i can now sync my phonebook with my pc via nps. I remember i was able to do it with L3 version of firmware not sure bouth older ones.
Earlier this week I contacted Samsung in Denmark since NPS was also missing from the Danish site both for the I7500 and the I5700 Spica.
They told me that even though the NPS CD was included in the package when I got the phone Samsung no longer supported the Android system since it was not a part of their systems. Instead they referred to Google.
If I wanted to update the phone I should contact the place where I bought the the phone and then they would recommend a "service technician", who would be able to update the phone.
What is going on here??
Is Samsung suddenly not a part of the Android community any more or do they just find it easier to forward all problems directly to Google??
No matter what I find this very disappointing and frustrating that Samsung does live to their responsibility after selling a product.
Does anyone have a better/faster solution than sending your phone a "service technician"?
Is the only other way to root your phone?
I would really appreciate if I could get the updates without rooting the phone.
