Pre order ship date

I have heard pre orders are to ship the 17th. When I pre ordered mine this past Friday online a pop up stated it was scheduled to ship on the 16th.

It also said my debit card wouldn't be charged until shipped. I got an email a little later stating my order was processed and sent to the warehouse for shipping.

My card was charged and my order says in progress. I doubt it but I am hoping for a Monday or Tuesday ship.

Don't mean to burst your bubble but I ordered on 2/5 at the preorder opening and my email said the exact same things. Ships on 2/16 and has been sent to the warehouse for shipping. It hasn't changed for a week now. It tells you that it holds the money somewhere on the email. So they did a CC authorization and will make the charge final the day that they actually ship. The best we can hope for is that they mail a day or so earlier, but I expect to see it 2/17.

I figured that much. I just hope it ships earlier, like sometimes happens.

Mine is still showing backordered! For those of you who have processing confirmation, I have two questions: What color did you pick and did you select upgrade pricing or pay fill retail?

New customer. When I tried to get the blue it told me they could not process my order and to go to an AT&T store on the 19th. I cleared everything and chose the white and everything went through fast and easy. I ordered on Friday the 10th

So you are opening an AT&T account in addition to verizon one? I'm seriously considering this too. Seems like all the desired Samsung phones are going to AT&T first except Galaxy Nexus. Verizon is known to be carrier of Motorola but I'm not fan of their design and bloatwares.

I am actually ditching my VZW account and unlimited data. :( AT&T has better coverage at my new house. Also even though I love my Galaxy Nexus the radio is so weak in it. I would like to stay on Verizon with my unlimited data. But to be honest I really don't want an iPhone or a Motorola Android right now even though they both have stronger radios.

I may also want to dip my toes in Windows phone 7 and Verizon is severely lacking in that area. I like the ease of switching phones by sim.

Seems you made a hard decision. AT&T coverage on my area seems a little better than verizon too. But as soon as I get out of metro area, the difference seems very noticeable between them in favor of VZW. But again I spend over 95% time inside the metro area.

One deciding factor is how well Nexus would do signal wise with ICS update. Though I'm not having terrible signal drops like some others, I wish it's better by 15 dbm at least. If imminent 4.0.4 or future updates don't live up to my expectation, I will also make move to AT&T. I'm so spoiled by my friend's SGSII next to me at work.

Can you please elaborate on the weak radio comment?I have asked this at several places on the radio,do different phones have better radios than other phones.I always get the same reply"all phones come with 5 Watt radios, a number set by the FCC". So when I se a comment about a phone having a better radio,I have to ask.could it be a better antenna or antenna placement?

On a side note,I am in the same boat.Verizon signal is terrible in my area while at&t has great +h.so far out of town has been good also.always fearful of the att horror stories.but at my workplace my buddies art service runs circles around Verizon.Verizon I can barely get a 1x signal.I decided like you,I am in same area 95% of the time.

Some phones do indeed have weaker radios than others. A lot of times this can be "fixed" with software updates. It may in part be due to antenna placement but there are other factors.

Yeah, that's dilemma for me too. Overall Verizon has wider coverage than AT&T, no doubt. And their LTE network is the best 4G network in US hands down though there are still some glitches at times. But in metro area there are some weak spots for verizon, and quite often AT&T signal is better on such places. Seems AT&T network is dense in cities, but drops fast outside metro area.

But AT&T has definitely better and balanced android phone line up as their network is globally compatible. On verizon, it's pretty much all Motorola and others like Samsung, HTC, LG are treated like step children with slow release, update. On the other hand, I keep hearing that AT&T customer service sucks and they charge ridiculous fees and often increase it to upset customers. I will see how verizon treat Nexus updates and if they get other beast Sammy phones like Note, SGS3 this year to decide on move to AT&T.

Yeah, I preordered thru BB and at first it said shipdate 2/10-2/15. Then it said backordered.

Called BB CS 3 separate times and they were of no help. And since I picked standard shipping they thought that I wouldn't see the phone till beginning of March!

And I'm going on a business trip starting the 26th and would have thought I'd have the phone by now. But not so sure now.

So I ordered the phone again thru ATT Premier. Which by all indications shoudl be in my hands by the 17th.

But the deal is so much better thru BB. So I got to make a choice, either stick with BB and "hope" they ship earlier than "After 2/19" as I was told by BB CS, and pray Standard Shipping gets it here before end of the week. Or bag BB and keep the ATT order.

Anyone got some good advice?
