app to find "apps gone free"?

Does anyone know of an app that informs you of Paid apps that have gone free? On iphone i use appadvice. Is there anything like that for the android market?

Thanks

I use the same thing for my iPad. I haven't found anything for Android, but do you know about Amazon's free app of the day? Also there are a lot of paid apps available for free on GetJar (completely legal, not pirated)

It is not on the market, it is another app store that is run by amazon. Go to this website: Amazon App Store and enter you phone number or email address and Amazon will send you the download link.

Two things to keep in mind:

1. you must have the amazon app store installed on your phone to use any of the apps you download from them. If you uninstall the app store the apps will no longer work.

2. When an app is given away free for a day the developer does not receive any money from it being downloaded (this is the reason I no longer use it as I like to support the developers)

Hmmm. Funnee but I don't see the point myself unless you want to fill your phone up with random "stuff". I mean, you have something you want your phone to do so you hunt down an app for that purpose if the phone won't do it as stock. If that app is free all well and good. If it's not you decide whether you want to pay the price of the app to do what you want to do. What am I missing here ....

It's also US only. You can get it in the UK but have to jump through hoops - proxy servers, fake US address etc

Umm. I have the Amazon app here in the UK. Have downloaded several of th 'free apps of the day' when they've been useful to me.

Or there's a third option - use an app such as the one the OP is looking for to monitor when the app you want is free or on sale.
