Help downloading videos from youtube

Hello guys,

i want to know how can we download videos from youtube in flv format without compromising on the quality? Is there any pc or android app for that?

Since Galaxy S2 supports Flv file format its better to have videos in flv as mp4s take much of a memory.

I have some video songs downloaded from youtube in flv format, i can see the playback quality is awesome in my phone. But i dont know which was the application used for downloading those videos.

You may have a problem finding such a thing as downloading content for offline use i.e. non-streaming is against YouTube's Terms Of Service, so I imagine Google aren't too keen on apps that ignore that.

I use a Mac and I just copy the flv files from the browser cache. Can't be that hard to find them in a PC's browser cache.

There is an app in the market called "Tubemate" which do downloads videos from youtube to the phone, the quality of the videos is not an issue at all it will be in mp4. But Flv format would have been much better for me.

This one works a charm. In the installation process, go very slowly and be sure to stop the thing from trying to install the yahoo search or whatever spamware it is, you have to untick a box or something.

i do have youtube downloader installed on my comp. The thing with that is i have to download the file in any of the specified formats. But i saw there is no option to retain the videos in flv format itself.

I also have Vdownloader which is similar to youtube downloader, but it allows videos to be in flv format itself. It has "no conversion" option in the file format options. But i see a very light lag in video playback in galaxy S2.
