Help Music Volume Lowered/Limited In 1.6?

Yes !!!!
It's been a few days I wanted to ask same question, as I have the same impression.

I used to hear spotify at 1 click before reach max volume (with headphones)
Right now, I'm hearing it always at max, and I have the impression I'd need 2 clicks more to reach same level I had in 1.5 (specially in a noisy environment as the street).

I thought it was just me, as no one said anything about it at the forum.
But I confirm you the volum is lower in 1.6. It's not only you Xenon

I've run some tests with other apps as Meridian player and different sources, with same results.

me too noticed very low sound volume for music player. but what's worse yesterday i was driving and put my phone on loudspeaker, and damn i had to keep it to my ear to hear what the person was saying :( on ik5 i had alot better volume and i could leave the phone on the seat and talk easily.
i'm glad someone asked this question as i wanted to ask myself :) just thought i'll make some more test before i can prove i wasn't going def :)

for me it was very very noticeably quieter in Spotify since upgrading to 1.6 and assumed it was a new 1.6-specific version of the app. the stock app seemed alright to me but i've only used it once since so it's perfectly possible that's quiet too and it's system-wide. :(

if so i hope it can be fixed! you have to have it up to 11 on the tube, partly because it's tradition and partly because the trains are so loud!

besides, the gods of heavy metal "said to play it louder than hell, and we promised that we would!". hope somebody gets that song reference :-/

I realised the same thing yesterday. I was shocked and return to 1.5. It has much better sound quality and volume.

Here is the one from 1.5: AudioFilter.txt

To install:
1. put AudioFilter.txt in tools directory, where ADB is.
2. write in cmd:
adb pull /etc/AudioFilter.txt AudioFilter.backup.txt
adb remount
adb push AudioFilter.txt /etc/AudioFilter.txt
3. restart phone

I don't know if it makes the sound louder or not... I tried it but I cannot say. Can anyone confirm? Maybe someone can record the phone before/after and then compare?

If u like the music u listen, never do that. Converter converts already converted music file, meaning, it makes bad things even worse. If u like listen it loud OK but it's bad for the quality of mp3 fileat the end. Already encoded mp3 file must be decoded, amplified and than encoded again... you get loudness but u loose quality.

At the end this is not the solution for calls, messages, etc.? Volume that up if u can ;).
