I just got my first Samsung Galaxy phone and I syncronise my contacts with Google cloud.

I've logged in to my Google account online with the same ID as my phone is using for synchronsing. But I cannot find my phone contact list in my Google contact list.

So my questions is: Where can I go online to controll what is being backed up?

Make sure your saving it to your gmail and not your phone. When you add a contact in touch wiz it ask to you want to save to your phone or your gmail.

The whole point of syncronising, is to make backup of my contacts on the phone. So saving it to the phone shouldn't matter when it comes to backing up the contact list on my phone.

Is there truly no proper native backup program for Samsung Galaxy?

Go to "Settings> Account and Sync" now unchecked sync contacts. And again checked it. wait for full sync. Now check those contacts appear in your Google contacts.
If not move all the Google contacts in to separate label, and again sync.
Most of the time when i sync my phone contacts they appear on Google "Phone contacts" or Android contacts" but now i changed its name so i can't remember it correct name.

Actually, that's where you are wrong. When you save a contact on your phone, its going to ask you to save either to phone or your Gmail account. Both are actually saved on your phone, you don't have to be connected to the internet to access the contacts saved on your Gmail account. The difference is that, only the Gmail contacts sync to Google cloud.

Saving to phone creates a separate storage on the phone which does not sync to Google because it was set to sync to Kies only. Some people do not want their contacts to sync to cloud, so this option was given for their usage.

You are looking at the proper native backup program for any Android phone, you are simply refusing to use it by insisting on saving to "phone" instead of your Gmail account. For contacts saved to offline phone storage, you can back them up by connecting to PC and syncing them to the Samsung Kies software for Windows/Mac.
