Ok. So, I have ZTE Warp for Boost, but I am experiencing too many problems lately. Should I give up on the Warp (after only 2 months) and spend almost $300 on the Marquee?!

Boost or ZTE?They have a buy back program, but i'm not sure how it works. You should look into it.
Constant random restarting (for no apparent reason) and occasional freezing (forcing me to do manual reboots). What kind of problems are you running into with your phone?
...lol... I know exactly what you mean!!! I had the LG OpV (from Virgin) and swithced to the ZTE Warp (Boost). If the phone is not from Sprint, Verizon, AT&T or some well-known contract carrier, most big chain stores won't have the slightest idea of what you're asking about.Am considering switching to Boost myself from Virgin Mobile. Although my service has been decent, I am growing a little tired of the smaller display. I am assuming that all of you folks that have the Marquee had to order from Boost's web site online? I get the deer in the headlights look when I ask BestBuy, Target or Walmart about the phone.
As for me, it don't take very long at all. I think it was less than a day. Also to anyone that came to Boost from Virgin how was the process of keeping your old number? Did the porting process take long?
Yes, I got my Warp online. I used the discount promo (30% off) they had going on in late November/early Decemeber. I couldn't pass it up.Thanks WC ... so did you get yours online ? I really think this phone will fit all my needs.

However, if you check out any of my posts in the 'Warp' forum, you will see that I haven't been very pleased with the quality of the device lately. I'm actually thinking about biting the bullet and switching to the Marquee. That was the phone I was originally holding out for in the first place, because I thought it was going to Virgin Mobile, which is what I previously had with the LG OpV.

Amen DaddyZap. Ive been to all the Radioshacks and boost stores around here and none have the Marquee yet. I don't know about everyone else but I like to see and feel a phone in person before I buy one.
Ok I have been a previl user since they came out. My Android knowledge has grown, I need a grown up phone. Short of rooting it I am seriously debating upgrading to the Marquee. Does this model have teatherring built in or does it have to be rooted? (I admit I never did get my previl to root, which is sad considering I am an IT geek by trade)
Thanks

Download and install Launcher Pro from the market. Its free.
Use Launcher Pro or any other Launcher as your default.
Long press an empty space in your home screen.
click shortcut
click activities
scroll down to com.lge.hiddenmenu
expand com.lge.hiddenmenu
click Data Setting in com.lge.hiddenmenu category
click DUN NAI
and under extend modem change it to no
This will allow you to tether without the charge from Sprint.
I found that this setting has to be changed ever time the phone restarts.
Not a big deal since you create a shortcut with launcher pro
I was able to get a wireless hotspot working without rooting just by downloading launcher pro and following these instructions that I found here:
Has anyone w/ Marquee tried wifi tethering yet? - Page 3 - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
Did you restart and try it again? It definitely worked for me after I created a shortcut to LG Hidden Settings and then changed the settings. I tried using Quick Settings and a controls widget to activate the hotspot, and both worked. There was one step that was a bit confusing. After you click activities, expand com.lge.hiddenmenu, and select (what is for me) the second item down, LG Hidden Menu - com.lge.hiddenmenu.LGServiceHiddenMenu_Settings. That should create a shortcut on your screen. Go into that, select data settings > DUN NAI > Extend modem = NO. Then back out of the menus and it should work, but as it says you will have to set it to NO every time you restart the phone. Hope it works for you.could not get it to work on my boostmobile marquee. if anyone else tries this and it works please let me know. it would be greatly appreciated!

You know I kinda get the feeling that Boost newest Androids are turkeys. Take a look at Metro Pcs there LG Esteem, awesome. Its only $20.00 more than the Marquee. Instead of waiting for Boost to lower your monthly plan after having 1.5 years of on time service to get to $40 per month Metro will give you a $40.00 plan upfront or for $50 or $60 you'll get streaming music and video options. Also unlike the Marquee the Esteem's got lots of support, just look at the section here. Everybody seems to love the phone and it seems to be problem free. My only concern is the service, will it work where I need it. Boost/Sprint isnt perfect but it does work pretty well for me.
That is odd, they continued my shrinkage when I upgraded to the Marquee. I started at $50/mo. + $5 insurance fee. And with shrinkage it was down to $40/mo. + $5 insurance fee. Now it is a $45/mo. Android Plan plus my $5 insurance fee.BOOST MOBILE WANTED TO CHARGE ME $55 A MONTH AFTER SWITCHING FROM THE GALAXY PREVAIL TO THE LG MARQUEE! AND THEY SAID THAT SHRINKAGE ISNT AN OPTION FOR THIS SMARTPHONE WITH ANDROID! I ALWAYS THOUGHT PREVAIL WAS RUNNING ON 2.3 GB TOO.... LOL.... SO, BEING THE HARD ASS I AM WHEN IT COMES TO SHIT I PAY FOR ON A MONTHLY BASIS FOR YEARS, I CALLED BOOST AND TOLD THEM WHAT I THOUGHT OF THEIR NEW $55 NQA (NO QUESTIONS ASKED) FOR THE WARP, PREVAIL AND MARQUEE..... I BROKE IT DOWN TO THEM IN MY POV, WHICH IS: START F-ING WITH MY BILLS AND WATCH HOW QUIK I CUT YOU OUTTA MY PAYROLE.
Boost gave me my $50 plan back and reinstated my shrinkage plan including my 12 months of on-time payments; I PAY $40/MONTH ONCE AGAIN.
THEY OWE THERE CUSTOMERS SOMETHING IN EXCHANGE FOR OUR CHOOSING THEIR LESSTHAN CONTRACT QUALITY CELL SERVICE; SINCE AT $55 W/O SHRINKAGE, JUST TO HAVE A DECENT FRICKEN PHONE, IS A STREIGHT RIPOFF AS I C IT AFTER 3 YRS WITH EM (UNTIL MAY OR JUNE WHEN SPRINT INCLUDES BOOST IN THEIR NETWORK COVERAGE INCREASE TO BASICALLY EQUAL TO VERIZON'S). I take it personally when it comes to business, especially when it's a company I been loyal to 4 3+ yrs w/ 2 accts, no missed payments, or complaints for the shitty phones they've had till recently. AND AS IF THEY DIDNT GET THEIRS WITH THE $279 THEY SELL THE MARQUEE FOR.
DAMN BOOST..... TAKE UR DAMN VERIZON GOGGLES OFF ....GOTTA LOOK AT THE FACE OF THE PERSON HOLDING THE C-NOTES..... NOT JUST THE FACES THE PAPER..... SO HEED THE ADVICE U GAIN FROM MY DEBRIEF CUZ BOOST DOES HAVE A LITTLE COMPETITION!
DONT TAKE THAT SHIT FROM BOOST... AT LEAST THOSE OF YALL WHO BEEN WITH BOOST & SHRINKAGE B4 THESE CHANGES....

I'm not sure about your first question, but I'm pretty sure my connection is secure and it works. I'd have to check again. Also, I can't seem to turn the hotspot off even with it already turned off on the quick setting app. The hotspot icon still shows on the notification bar. I have to restart my phone to get rid of the icon.
