Two Questions now that I have the GNex.

For those that have the .4 update, are you getting 4g in areas you were not before? I cannot get 4g in my house even though Verizon says I should. (They are sending someone out within 3-5 days to take readings)
They are thinking I might need an extender. Hopefully that uses 4g.

Second Question:

My Original Droid still works with WiFi. Will it always work or will Verizon stop allowing it to work after a certain time? Can I do a hard reset and install kid friendly stuff and let my kids use it with only WiFi?

Thanks
Ron

I'm not sure about the 4G. I live outside of it. As for the OG, I left mine on WIFI only, just uninstalled not kid stuff and my 4yr old uses it. Depending on the ages of your children, you may want to do Airplane mode so you can control what apps are on the phone and they cannot do in app purchases. I learned the hard way, thankfully, my son only did a $0.99 in app purchase.

Your droid will still work on wifi. Only problem is that you may want to create a separate google account for that phone. That's what I did. Otherwise sometime the market/apps got screwy when there were 2 different devices on the same account with 2 different versions of the OS.

I put the phone in airplane mode so it doesn't use any battery trying to connect to towers, and leave wifi on. My kids use it as a little gaming device.

I actually have had four devices on one gmail account. Right now I have three (I gave away one of my OG droids) and have not had any problems (I've been under this configuration for over a year). What type of problems did you have? I'm curious as I like to learn stuff or maybe, hopefully, I can help you resolve them.

Yep, I have 7 devices attached to my account
You should have no problems. I just logged into my new Transformer Prime yesterday and it was actually the first device not to sync my apps. Gmail can be a little wonky with how frequently it syncs (you'll likely want to disable that in case your kids would read your emails.)

As to the .4 update, I've only updated the radios and bootloader but am still on .3 firmware. I've noticed a very modest upgrade in signal strength, but not much. I'm in a very strong 4G area so no problem.
(on a side note, I have noticed since I got my Bionic in Sept. that speed test results have consistently, between the two phones, gone down)

I didn't have a lot of problems, just things like gtalk and gmail access and notifications on multiple devices. Also, market updates seemed like it was trying to load apps on both phones even though I only wanted them on one. I only tried it for one day so it may not be a big problem for others. I just like having them on separate accounts. I don't want anyone buying apps or seeing my emails etc.

How do you get rid of the Activate Phone warning every time you turn the phone (Orig. Droid) on from its powered down stage?

Everything else seems to work great with just WiFi. I did a factory reset to make sure everything is clear.
