I'm all for that idea. I'd want a password to be able to protect it but I'd definitely use something like that.

Wanted to run an idea by you guys before I started coding. I was reading Reddit this morning and someone had said their niece had gotten into a car accident and went scrambling through her glove box for an index card to take down the driver's info and couldn't find anything. Also took her forever to find her information.
What do you think about an application that lets you enter information for a car accident? Most of us drive so even though we don't ever want to use this it might be useful to have it on our phone just in case.
You could enter all relevant accident information:
Basic Info: Date, Time, Location, Weather
Car Info: Make, Model, VIN, etc
Driver Info: Name, Address, Phone, etc
Insurance Info
Police Report Info
Then you could save this information on your phone and/or email it to yourself for later review and record keeping. Maybe incorporate some Beam technology (just to learn) so you can store your info in the phone and if their phone supports NFC beam them your info into the app (maybe, just thinking).
What are your thoughts? Would you use it / keep it on your phone just in case?
I think it is great! You should think about adding the ability to take pics natively within the app as well. I could see this idea being sold to esurance and the like.

You could enter all relevant accident information:
Basic Info: Date, Time, Location, Weather four native apps in android
Car Info: Make, Model, VIN, etc photo of registration
Driver Info: Name, Address, Phone, etc photo of registration, i guess you would have to enter phone#
Insurance Info in my state it is on the registration, so some flexibility may be needed here
Police Report Info

CM9 nightlies for our lil buddy are up. Anyone jumping ship from their current rom to try it out? CyanogenMod Mirror Network - Powered by TDRevolution
I just got Black Ice up and running and am loving it. Might hold off for a lil bit.
Just toying with some basic UI stuff -- made in MSPaint (all I have at work).

Stiggy, have you looked at the apps from insurance companies that provide a similar product? It might give you more ideas. Good Luck!
Yeah just went thorugh State Farm, Allstate and Geico apps.
State Farm requires you to login to add Vehicle/Car Owner which is a huge hit in my book. Geico's vehicle and person information is just a giant text box for information with no separate values.
Allstate is the only decent one that lets you go through all the steps without logging in until you go file a claim for the car. I am going to use some of their steps in my app, but improve upon them. I want to make it very straightforward so that if you are in an accident its not difficult to fill out at all. I've been in them and the last thing you want to do is have it be a confusing/annoying experience.

Especially if the 2 people involved in accident can beam each others info. That would be sweet.
Not sweet to get into accident though. I hope I never have to think about it. 16 yrs driving with no accidents. (Knock on wood)
I was kinda thinking that a lot of people aren't the plan ahead type. While having vehicle information preloaded would be useful, you may want to keep it optional. Say you are the passenger in the vehicle but you have the app, you obviously wouldn't have the drivers information preloaded. Same idea for people like me. I don't use a ton of apps on my phone. I do have a mental list of apps for certain situations. If you did create something like this and I was aware of it. I would probably get from the market when I needed it (i.e. right after I get rear ended).
I can see this being how BB meets her future husband... (Accident his fault, of course
Quick question. I'm a little stupid when it comes to Light Flow. How do I disable the LED when the screen is on?
My grab bag from the grocery store.
Not bad at all.
I might enjoy a 120 minute from Dogfish Head tonight.
