Help HDMI not working after latest DC software update

Bought this phone specifically for the HDMI output function, but immediatelly following latest software update (approx. a week ago) I now get a blank screen on my TV when streaming a video (from Jetflicks for example) and I get picture but no sound when playing downloaded videos using HDMI output/cable.

Anyone else having this problem and does anyone have the solution? I've read about the same issues following a Froyo software update last year.

Please help! thx.

Wish the answer was as easy as that, however, I enthusiastically viewed streaming videos daily via the HDMI out to my Plasma TV without a hitch, up untill about 1 hour before Charge Software Update. Immediately after the update... a blank screen, no sound... and downloaded content already on phone shows on screen but no sound following the update... Any Admin out there have any advice? Should/can I contact Samsung with the issue? I imagine since it's thier update only they can resolve it...

were you using a cutom ROM like Gummy Charged?

what app specifically were you using to stream videos, as the standard video player app (and google videos app) should work just fine. do you install another video player app that is overriding it?

I am able to get HDMI on my phone (but I'm rooted and using HumbleComb 5.0).

also, are you using Go Launcher? sometimes the image would not appear when using Go Launcher.

My phone is stock, have always used Charge's stock video player (from Gallery app I believe) it works and looks perfect with all media content until the update, now downloaded video content as well as Netflix and all screens on phone are displayed on my TV off-center left 6" so subsequently videos are cut-off on the left and there is no audio, for anything. Furthermore, streaming video (app used is Jetflix), isn't even displayed anymore, just a blank screen ! Sending phone back to Samsung for second time for repair/fix. I will post the results. Please do the same if you've got a fix. Thx.

Same thing happend when i got the update in Dec played all till then replace the phone two times and cables thinking that was it but i noticed every one started right after update.

I talked to LG tech...They say some smartphones like the Charge don't automatically convert to storage mode for HDMI like Motorola phones do.
Thats why LG TV's made before 2011 won't work with the Droid Charge.
This may be the problem with other non-smart TV's with HDMI.

Samsung just didn't do their tech design homework.

Now, anybody make a converter from Micro HDMI to RGB or VGA out?

Is there an APP or hack to correct the mode sensor on the droid charge?
Stuck with no TV view from Droid Charge and LG 55LE7300-UA :mad::mad:

Droid Charge was replaced but was not the problem....My LG 55LE7300-AU TV was pre-smart TV and needed firmware update. Update was easy and fast, just follow the instructions at LG support site. The TV found the file when turned on and update was less than 5 mins.

My Sony Vega LCD HDTV television was made in 2004 and works great with my Droid Charge using the HDMI input. The charge also works great on my parent's Samsung plasma HDTV which was made in 2009. Samsung did do their homework, the problem is not with the Droid Charge, its with your LG TV.
