Hi, I'm a newbie to the android scene. I would like to purchase a nexus one. I have a few questions.
If it's unlocked is it also rooted or does that need to be done separately?
Will it work on Rogers network and in Europe on Tim?
Thanks in advance for your help

Unlocked just means that it's not tied to any specific carrier. Rooted is something else entirely. It voids your warranty but allows you install your own custom ROM's (or more likely ones that other developers make available). If your a newb I would stay away from that for now.

Don't know about the carrier questions.

When I root phone I will lost my warranty??

No offense but judging by your questions, rooting would be the last thing on my mind.
My advice, get the phone and spend A LOT of time playing with it and getting to know it well. Try replacing the stock home screen, stock keyboard, adding customizable widgets and stuff like that first. There is a lot you can do to customize this phone without rooting right away. There are a lot of users here who feel the Nexus doesn't need to be rooted.
