I just had to test it too as I dont watch you tube on my phone either. It worked on both wifi and 3G and Iam running AreaRom. So I would guess its your signal, How many bars do you have?

Signals not too bad it does even when I'm connected to widow? Its not just YouTube though any online video? Do you have any sugesions on how I could get it goin? The weird this g is it started all of a sudden? It worked at first? Thanks by the way.. mayby its miner?

I would try connecting to wifi and see if the videos work, if they do that will tell you that its your 3G connection and not the rom. if you dont have wifi in your house then goto mcdonalds or starbucks or almost any where lol

Yea its the same... it says sorry video cannot be played?? Is their anything I could possibly do??

Back up your apps and make sure your contacts, pictures, all your data are backed up, then reinstall the ROM and see if videos work.

rukbat you da man!! its working again.. i also know now what did it its the 3g optimize changing your proxys to 0000 iv tested it for times it plays video until you do that.. my loading still sucks on this phone even with good signal??? thanks everybody....

Great - glad you got it working. I don't know what you mean by "my loading still sucks on this phone" - slow 3G download speeds? (But fast enough for video?) One of these days I might download Speedtest and check my download speed - I use wifi most of the time. (I've used about 30k on the phone so far this month, and I've downloaded a few GBs of files - all on wifi.) AFAIC, 1mbps is all you're going to get unless you're downloading on a very short (less than a couple of hundred miles) path, so until the internet speeds up, I'm not worried about download speeds.

the loading like if im trying to watch a video on youtube..... it kills me thats all i wana do lol it has to pause an load over an over jus to watch a 2 minute video??? idk what to do.. iv rooted change to area rom 2.2 greenbread.. would tha auto task killer work? it says it has 3g an memory tweaks? i jus dont know if i can use it with greenbread????? it already has task killer??

Task Killer doesn't actually do anything useful - Android inherently kills tasks if it needs to.

As far as pausing during a video, that sounds as if the connection is just too slow for video. You need at least 600-700kbps for low quality video. Don't even think of high quality YouTube on a Precedent. Have you run Speedtest's app to see what kind of download speeds you get? Regardless of how great the tower is, if you're far from it, or there's noise cutting up the signal, your speed will be terrible. You need a lot better signal for high speed data than you do for perfect voice.

ping 282 /download 60kbps /upload 80kbps??? thats bad huh???
60 down? That's dial-up speed. Get an app that shows you where the towers are (look on the Market - I forgot the names of the apps, but there are a few of them) and see where the nearest one is. It's probably not close.

Either go near a tower or use wifi and run the YouTube app. I have no problems on a crappy wifi connection.

ok ill do that... do you think flashing a prl would do me any good?
Not unless there's a tower closer to you that your PRL doesn't allow you to connect to - which is highly unlikely.
im sorry for pickin ur brain so much
That's what this is all about - helping each other.
when i flash prl do i need to know my original one?
Not only know the number (which is is in phone info, so it's trivial to find) but have a copy of the file. If the one you flash doesn't work, you can just flash the original back. (You might be able to do an OTA - over the air PRL load. I don't know because I haven't tried to do it yet. But it's a lot easier to just have the original file available.)
and do you think the tweaks on atk would help me any?
That depends on the problem. You know - if you have a pain in your head due to a tumor, surgery might help. But if the pain is due to banging your head against a brick wall, there's a simpler solution. For example, when I run my laptop on my deck, if someone runs the microwave, I lose my wifi connection. The solution is simple - wait for the microwave to finish. You could just have something causing a lot of noise, which would degrade the signal to the point that data transfer is slow. (You only need about 24kbps for voice.) Or it could be that Sprint has sucko coverage of your house, in which case you have to find out who has good coverage and, if it's AT&T or Tmo, go with a BYOD SIM and a different phone.

You can't fix a problem until you know what the actual problem is. Slow data is a symptom - you have to find the cause. If standing half a mile, in sight, from the tower gives you good speed, it's not the phone or the tower. If not it ccould be the phone. One step at a time. (Fixing what's not broken is the fastest way to break something.)

So i went to area51's web site earlier today and tried clicking on some of the links there. Most of them gave me some error message and would not load. I had heard in some threads that the site was shut down, however there seemed to be recent posts from other people there. Anyone know what is up with this site? I would really like to play with some of the mods they have worked on.
