When I (currently in India) checked for software updates today, it is showing a "Update: System enhancement 28.0 MB" available. No other information is provided.

Anybody else seeing this or has applied this update?

I am already running with Android 2.3.5 and HTC Sense 3.0 updates on my phone.

Thanks, your email gave me the courage to update mine :). After the update it said System software updated to version 3.11.405.1

So far all good, or rather nothing bad happened. I see some new menus in Power, including a new Power saver option which manages data connections also (though there is no clue what it does).

No other obvious changes, but it has been only few minutes since I installed the update.

It seems since this update I have now been receiving two 'battery low' notifications. They come through at the some time, so it beeps twice, and two pop-up windows are shown. The first is the old '15% remaining' pop-up and the second is similar but has a link to the power saving options. Is anyone else having this issue? I can't find a way to disable either of them...

I received it few days ago in United Kingdom. annoying bit is - I cannot install it because CWM (Clockworkmod) seems to be blocking it. When I try to install normally via system, phone reboots and than hangs after reboot. When I try to install via CWM it's aborting. I suspect that signature isn't correct... and *IF* I remember well, there was also something about CIM.

- Do you have any ideas on how to install it ?

An OTA can only be installed on a fully stock HTC ROM,including the HTC recovery. Since you have CWM yo will not be able to install it unless you remove CWM and replace it with the stock HTC recovery.

Makes sense. That's what I was actually suspecting...

I was looking everywhere - including official CWM website but can't find a solution to remove CWM (from the "system" I mean, because removing it via Applications or PlayShop doesnt do the trick )

How can I do that ?

And I will manage to remove it, will my HTC return to stock recovery or I will need to install it separately ?

In FASTBOOT USB mode you would enter the command

Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

This will update and replace the current recovery with a new recovery. This is how you need to remove CWM.

Sorry but I don't have those options. I have:

HBOOT
[and under]
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY - CWM
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
HBOOT USB
IMAGE CRC

When I enter FASTBOOT, I have FASTBOOT USB in red color and under
BOOT LOADER, REBOOT, REBOOT BOOTLOADER, POWER DOWN.

I can't write anything there so I guess it needs to be done from console.

Would be be so kind and give me further instructions ?

PS - Is this safe or does it carry any risk ?

You need to visit XDA-Developers.com and search the Incredible S sections. There is plenty of information there on how to flash a recovery image.

Yes, you enter the "fastboot flash" command from a console window.

And yes as with any modding you do to your phone, there is always a risk. But the fact that you have already modded the phone by installing ClockworkMod, you should be OK.

Thanks. I will go over that on weekend. All I am missing is Window$. I haven't used it since years as I work on :adore: Linux. Rooting of this Incredible S was done on my friends laptop running Win7, but I have installed him Linux as well :D How could I knew ;)

Just to double check - is the "recovery.img" stored on my HTC or will I need to download it from the net ?

You can extract it from an official RUU ROM.zip
