10. While still In System/media go to video(Now you should See your Original shutdown animation folder, rename It shutdown.bak and highlight and move somewhere on your sdcard that it would be safe.
11. Now go back to System/Media and Highlight the new shutdown and move it to the video folder.
12. Now while in system/media/video highlight the shutdown and change the permission to only... (First Row all Read should be checked, on owner the first Write should be checked on that row NOTHING ELSE, last row Execute all should be checked), Now click ok.
13. Click the shutdown folder and for every image change the permission to first row all checked and second row only the first one checked NOTHING ELSE, click ok. ( This Step Is Important)

Just tried it, and it stayed stuck on "Power Off" "Shutting down"
Boots fine after I take out the battery and put it back in.

It would be nice if you can add a screen shot for steps .12 & .13. I have a feeling that's where I messed up at.

When I was messing around with it i had the same problem, This is Why i typed everything step by step

Im Not good with screen shots but someone else may post them up. Dont panic your phone is fine, u just missed a step.

Try to read it once more
I will try to make a video for this soon.

ive reset this thing 50 times
i can change the first and second animation but it gets stuck and loops...its something with the bootanimation and samsungloop in system\bin thats the key

Are Your Permissions Correct? Like I said for Every image you have in the sytem/media/video/shutdown folder you have to highlight it and go to permissions and change them all the same to what i said in the steps, if not changed your phone will get stuck when trying to power down menu until the permissions are correct.

Hope This Helped:eek:

this has nothing to do with a permission thing. this is an issue with a link back on a data file from the bin...not being able to complete its assigned task by being a link to execute its command when triggered...the bootanimation file in the bin is a linker to one of the qmg's in the media file ...same thing for samsungloop data file in bin..it links back to the qmgs in the media file also..i need to figure out what needs changed to stop the null on the desc. text that is with the bootanimation.zip to make it run as user graphics instead of system graphics....it would help if i actually knew what i was talking about instead of being 100% self taught. :):):):):)

edit..i think it can be solved with a cleaner.sh located at the root of my flashed zip file...all the ones from the transform have a cleaner.sh for the bootanimation to clean out the old one to run..
ANY DEVELOPERS READING THIS THAT WANTS TO THROW IN SOME INPUT...THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!!!

A new bootani is in my thread....new bootanimation.....yes!!!! Im on the edge of success with a real boot animation for our phones ...ive got it set to change with every flash of my themes but its still leaves you with the second splash stay on ....soooo as soon as I get it figured out EVERYONE WILL BE ABLE TO CHANGE BOOTANIMATION AT WILL...SIMPLY BY FLASHING A VERBOUS THEME OR A DWAYNE ADMIROUS THEME AND HAVE A KICKASS BOOT ANIMATION TO BOOT. :)

Dwayne....hit me up brother....we need to put our heads together on this..cause the developers are letting us newbies run with it on this ....we are the little engine that could and soon to be the little engine that kicked tail and left them at the starting line. :)

I did this and now my phone stays idle while shutting off...
Might have to do with editing the permissions for every image can you give better instructions on which ROW and GROUPS should have what?

when you go through each individual image, the permissions are read all, owner write, and execute all, but make sure you mount the disk to read/write first so everything saves then make it read only when you're finished.. i tried to select all before hand but didnt realize i only got one frame right and had a loop for a few minutes too before i checked again and did them all individually..

(In school) So this might be my problem on why the phone won't shut down correct?

sounds like it from my point of view.. first time trying anything like this myself, but if you follow all the steps to anything the guys and gals on here say to do to a 't', you shouldnt have much of an issue.. the following all directions part is what i did wrong before i figured it out and went back in to change all the permissions.. rebooted and everything seems to be almost flawless..
