Any M. Ward fans here? A friend of mine turned me on to him about a year ago and I really dig it. I didn't know how prolific he is. Monsters of Folk, She and Him, Tired Pony, Arizona Amp and Alternator to name the bands I know of on top of his solo stuff. I've also read he's got a new album coming out in April with a couple songs from the album already available.

Yeah, I am too. First heard about him when he collaborated with Bright Eyes (also a big fan). He's coming to DC in May, perhaps we'll go.
And as quirky as her voice is, I like the stuff he's done with Zooey Deschanel.

I totally had a brain fart about Bright Eyes.

I don't mind the first She & Him album. Very retro and Nancy Sinatra-ish. The second album, apart from the single, didn't really do it for me as much. Of course, how can you not love Zooey? If you don't, as far as I'm concerned, you have no soul.

I know he was going to play Chicago but I can't remember if it was last month or this month. One of these days I'll catch one of his shows.
