i had the incredible and liked it a lot, back in November i became angry because i was waiting for the gingerbread update.i had heard the incredible, would get it then i heard it would not get it,then my phone lost a couple apps for what ever reason, the phone wouldnt work right until i got rid of the apps.by the time i figured all this out i had ordered the iphone. in my opinion, the iphone is a very nice phone, that being said, all in all i thing the android is better.my question is did the incredible get gingerbread?if not where do i start for HTC phones that has gingerbread or what is the latest android os out there? i still have my incredible but i dont know if i should go back to it or not. i just need to be up to speed with whats going on. thanks

Yes the incredible received gingerbread about 5 or 6 months ago (possibly longer). Every current HTC phone that is out has gingerbread.
The latest OS for android phones is Ice Cream Sandwhich, which was released in December, the only phone that currently has it is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

thank you sir,so if i activate my incredible it should notify me of the update on its own at some point??

It should/might... But you can manually install the update if you want, even without activating it.

You can run the program linked under option #1 found here from a windows pc and update the phone to gingerbread. (the RUU file).

**IT WILL WIPE THE PHONE COMPLETELY.**

does anyone know if we will get ICS for the DINC? if we did, what would it do for us?

I've read in this forum and in some other one's that if you have root access you can get the port to ICS for the Dinc, but last i heard it was still a work in progress and it sucks some battery like nobodies business. As far as what it would do for us is pretty simple....gives us more stuff to play with.
