Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Hey everyone. Been out for a while (vaca). Just caught up.

So:

1) Anyone able to get Google Wallet prepaid cards working yet?
2) Still wondering if anyone is using a good password manager that works on both a desktop and android.

Thanks!!!

Hmmm, I put Google Wallet on the Nexus shortly after launch and use a prepay Google card without a problem.

Yeah those of us who were early adopters are still good as long as they didn't reset their phone.

I did get a new handset in January and had to have Money Network reset it to the new handset. The only issue I have now is when I open Wallet it says the version I am using is not current but if you click to update it, the market says it is not approved by my carrier. After that, it reverts to the version on the phone and all is well.

Hmm, well the only thing I have done is changed around roms, but that last time I changed my rom (back to aokp), I reinstalled Google Wallet and it says that prepaid cards isn't available at this time, or something like that.

I too installed it the day that I got the phone, 2 days after launch, so have had it on my phone since just about the launch date.

Weird

And that appears to be my issue...I reset my phone....and now prepaid does not work for me. Not sure what to do now...and Google is not responding to my emails.....
My versions is: 1.1-R52V7
But the mysid that it says matches my old version...from 4.0.2...ICL53F...which is prolly where the issue is on mine...I wonder if I go back to 4.0.2 if it will work again, or if other is a way to get it to update???

Hey Ryan, the folks at Money Network told me that each "wallet" is connected to the actual phone. When I got a new handset and tried to restore Google wallet, my prepaid did not work. After ten minutes on the phone with Money Network and he had it transferred to the new handset. I would give them a call and see if they can help. 1 855 896 0693

Right now, re-provisioning an existing pre-paid card is still not available, supported device or not. It should be updated this Friday, according to The Google Wallet Team. Just got off the phone with them.

Hey guys, where did you get this Y Charger and how much? I need to charge two batteries sometimes...TIA.

That's a bummer, I assume when you say "Google Wallet Team", you mean the folks at Money Network?
I got my charger on ebay, it will simultaneously charge the nexus in a cradle and a spare battery at the same time.

i have stopped my kernel work with all the new screen work and color contractions that are coming to light with the nexus it is becoming something that beyond my coding level so it is on hold for now until i learn more about it or i can find someone who i can rip it from...

i am also in works with another AF member to bring something (I think) will be exciting to the nexus and if you have any RoM coding or porting experience and would like to help the team please PM and ill share some details with ya :D

Has anyone here worked with Arduino?
Or maybe interested in something like this:
http://downloads.element14.com/raspberryPi2.html?isRedirect=true

Little personal tidbit I may have mentioned before....we have a large salt water fish tank set up in the house...and 22 ft of tanks and filtration in the garage. We had to come up with a way to control all of the pumps, heaters, lights, etc...and arduino was the way to go: 5 years ago... That's the reason I got back into coding...had to find a way to have the controller do want we wanted it to do. But now I am looking for a way to integrate either windows embedded or android into the control modules, and that link is for a product built to allow just that....their beagleboard is also a possibility....all based on an ARM chip. Interesting stuff.

Haven't messed with Arduino any but I have done a lot with PIC Microchips. Had a semester class and a full year of a senior design project with those so I used to be quite familiar with them. Pretty easy to use and all based on C programming language. Ordered a programming kit from them a couple of months ago with every intention of getting back in it, but have since been wrapped up in teaching myself how to code for Android. Projects like that are so much fun but very time consuming. I know I'll get back in it one day and hopefully be able to do Android stuff along with it.

Ryan, I have a friend who was able to code an app for his temperature control'd home brewing system for his iPhone. It was super slick. He could check what all his tanks were sitting at, move the temps up or down as needed on his phone.
Wish you luck on your project.

Yeah, most commercial fish tank controllers have built in web apps that will only connect with idevices. So when we went looking for an alternative....you guessed it...it did not exist. I could not even find one that would play nice with my home windows server 2008 system or xp/win7. So I decided to do my own....and over the years it has become quite the mess of wires and coding. But I found that arduino has so many options...more than I can ever write in coding. Now the system is available by my Nexus...and over my home network. Love it. But I think it is time to expand to a more...clean set up. And I like what I can do with ICS..or a combination of ICS and Windows Embedded. Should be interesting. I am expecting a couple of new parts this month, but have to start writing code like yesterday..in all my spare time.....

I am sorry to hear that, hopefully semi-sick means you won't semi-get-it.....good luck!
Btw...any good tips for the graphically-challenged on how to learn PS essentials in a day? I was given a project at work, and given access to Photoshop essentials 7(talk about out of date...) but I am completely graphically inept. And have no idea on where to start...and I have till Friday. Thanks..I think...for any suggestions!!!

How you doing with this? What is the project?

Welcome back blkbeltkid, no Rom experience, but I'll keep my eye out for your little project.:)

Ditto. Plus I love salt water fish, but hate the amount of work involved. This sounds awesome. Morning All!

so the project is taking our old marketing materials and digitally uploading them to be printed in house, as needed only. We have old pre-printed forms that have old logos, pictures, etc..but we never had the digital clip art...so I have to scan, and then crop out the images, and make them into digital clips. I have to find a font similar, and then recreate the materials so that we can resize...say from an 8x11 to an A6 or A4 note cards, or vice versa or whatever they want. But the hardest thing for me to figure out is removing the clips from the original scans....I think I got it yesterday tho...magic extractor...and trial and error. I still have pixellating edges issues...but trying to clean up the image is going okay I guess. I got about 8 of the 10 clips to be usable.
Gotta love a company that is 15 years behind on digital imaging!!! Thanks again for the tip on YouTube. I did find a couple of tips...but now I just have to have some quiet time to work on it...not much of that during work hours, but I feel like I made progress...

On a side note, this is actually helping me, because my fiance and I need to do our own wedding invites soon, so learning PSE should help us to do those...and save about $1k on invites....

Awesome. Yeah there's the magic wand and the magic eraser that are great. For fonts try fontspace.com or 1001freefonts.com
If you need anything let me know and I'll see what I can find.

That's awesome to do your own invites. I did handmade rehearsal dinner ones for my girlfriend last year. Its nice to be able to have all the control, and the printing is definitely cheaper at home or even using something like Staples.

I actually meant the Google Wallet Team. When I called the support line I waited foe a Google Wallet Rep instead of connecting to a Money Network Rep or Citicard Rep, so I feel more confident about it becoming functional sooner than later.

The charger you got on eBay, can you share a brand/price if you don't mind?
