Best sms/mms for droid.

I was a big proponent of chompsms at the beginning back when it worked properly with smsfixtimes. However, I made the mistake of updating chomp after which my sms times went back to being all wonky and I couldn't get smsfixtimes to play nice with the new version of chomp. At that point, I moved to handcent and I've never looked back. Love the customizability and the extra features. +1 for Handcent.

chompSMS much better and more customizable than standard Droid messenger and way way better than HANDCENT!

Have you even ever used Handcent SMS???

I used to use Handcent, but it had (operative word) some issues. So I moved to chompSMS. It was "OK" ... better than the stock app. But I was really missing the customization abilities of Handcent. Fortunately, several weeks ago, the dev of Handcent released a major update. I went back to it and haven't had one single issue since. In my opinion, Handcent SMS is the best messaging app on the Market.

I'll add another +1 for Handcent. I'm not a big Pic/Video sender so I've seen no issues with Handcent.
Love the fact you can customize the living beJesus outta it :D

I went with handscent, I do like it, customized my colors,Will they add any of those quick mms add on that is on there menu if that's what they are. Any other customization pointers?

I have a really dumb question, one which I have been looking for on the forum for a while but haven't been able to find.

I use the stock messaging program that came with my Eris. I have no idea why I would want to switch to any other messaging system. All I see people talk about are the colors and "customizations", but is there any actual functional difference? I'd love some screen shots or something...

Tell me what I'm missing!

well i can say that as an eris owner, the stock messaging app is a HUGE drain on the battery, Handcent and Chomp both help with this issue

btw, i use Chomp at first I went back and forth between chomp and handcent then stuck with handcent...........until I did the 2.1 update...which does not play well with handcent.....and switched back to Chomp which has no bugs (that i have seen) with 2.1....plus chomp does alot better with my mms messages both sent and received

all a matter of choice....which with Android we have....

+1 Chomp:cool:
