Do not install 2.1 without saving your contacts

The people on these forums aren't very helpful, so I want to put this out there. I asked tons of people over and over and got no answer so here it is. You DO lose all of your contacts after updating to 2.1

all my contacts are on google contacts. I didn't even know you could have local contacts on this phone. It's a google phone. The whole point of it is to have everything cloud based so what happened to you doesn't happen.

I read several threads and posted my questions MULTIPLE times with ONE answer that didn't help at all.

Regardless most of the people on this forum are worthless for answers because they're all in the same boat as me, they don't know shit and have no clue what they're talking about.

Actually if you read the thread, and the leaked website it clearly states that all data is wiped out.

If you sync with google your contacts are fine, so nothing to worry about.

your SD card data is not touched also.

Use HTC Sync if you are not using Google Contacts.

"SIM" ?? CDMA phones do not have SIM cards.

Rookie mistake. If something is too risky to lose, make backups. Even if someone says they can be saved. Calling people assholes and idiots aren't gonna make us want to help you anymore the next time you ask a question.

Btw, my contacts were fine. I have only 25 so I wasn't afraid to lose them all. But after I was done. All resync and all was there. A shame for you.

Not all data is wiped, the only thing I lost at all was my contacts. Like I said, no one on this site knows what they're talking about roflirl
