Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Don't know if it's still on sale, but Osmosis is an AWESOME game. Tons of fun on my Prime. I picked up Flick Golf too. Graphics are top notch, game play is fun, but it's starting to get quite tough.
Morning all! Everyone enjoy their loss of an hour of sleep? I slept like crap last night so today isn't going to be that great at work. Happy Sunday to all of those who don't have to work.

My game of choice was Defender.

We actually had one on our ship and a buddy & I volunteered to maintain the guts and keep it clean. SO...

We discovered that there was a "test game" mode that, when a certain pin on a certain chip was grounded, it would give a free credit for a game. We ran a wire from that chip socket through the wiring harnesses to an un-grounded bolt on the frame. I carried a 2-foot piece of wire around with me and, when I wanted to play, I just pressed one end of the wire to a grounded bolt and the other end to the "special" bolt. FREE GAME! :D

I rolled that thing more times than I can count: my high score was 2,260,000 and I finally just ended it there, exhausted from hours of play.

Sometimes it's nice to be an electronics technician ;)

EDIT: I recently found an Atari 2600 and a bunch of game cartridges for it at an antique mall for a whopping $30! So I got to turn my kids on to some "old school" video games, the kind I could play before the controllers had 20 buttons on them...

How does it run on ICS? I have an A500 too, and can't wait for that next month. I hope it runs well on it. I actually like the feel, just wish it was a little lighter.

Could have sworn I replied to this last night...oh well.

It's running really smooth so far. I'm running Taboonay (stupid name, great ROM) and I had to flash something else with it (kind of like flashing Gapps with a ROM, but it was something else) to keep it from shutting down every time it went to sleep. No big deal, but I missed it on my first readthrough and had to try again.

I had a Nook Color running CM7 and it was great, but still way underpowered, so I sold it and bought the Acer...but having started with the Nook, the Acer feels huge and unwieldy. I've been waiting for a 7 inch tablet that's also a little powerhouse (and preferably with a great dev community)...sounds like Google heard my wish and is granting it lol.

Edit: /sigh Now I have to go write a paper about John Nash. Wish me luck!

NOW you've gone and done it, Chief. You've told everyone that our toys are in museums. Jeez, thanks.

At least we're from a day when our toys now BELONG in a museum! The junk that passes for "toys" these days... well, don't get me started... ;)

EDIT: Okay, I'm started:

Case in point: a "game" called "Gooey Louie"...

http://cf.geekdo-images.com/images/pic26424_md.jpg

In this game, Louie has a bunch of boogers hanging out of his giant nose. One of the boogers is attached to a spring-loaded brain. Players take turns pulling a booger out until someone grabs the "special" booger and trips the spring, causing his brain to pop out. And they "WIN"!

And THAT, dear friends, is what passes for toys anymore.

Rant concluded :)

In case any of you rooters haven't yet, definitely give DroidTheory's Crossbreed ROM over at Rootz a run. I'd suggest using his STD version, I've got a friend who has had nothing but problems with battery life who just got 48 hours on the extended with 3 hours of screen on time. So far it is the smoothest ROM I've ran and I've ran a TON of them haha.

Morning everyone!
So what did I get to discover this morning? The good ol' Nexy is dead! :(
Went to bed and it was likely no less than 80% battery (it sits on the charger all day at work and I listen to music to and from) and this morning it's just dead. Won't boot up, won't boot recovery/bootloader. Fantastic. This is the same thing that happened to my Flyer (won't boot at all, or even charge). I plugged it in just a few minutes ago and again, still won't boot.
Anyone have any thoughts other than taking a fun trip to my VZW store tomorrow?

Edit: Well, stupid me just had to do a battery pull and all is well. Wooo, dodged that one.

Morning everyone. Hope all had a good weekend. Had some problems out of the Nexus last night. After flashing M4 last week, I noticed Box.net didn't work anymore. FC'd every time I got past the login screen. Tried uninstalling, fixing permissions, wiping cache, etc.. nothing. So I deleted my TiBu backup of Box and wiped everything and did another fresh install of M4. Same thing. Tried a few other things and then tried flashing one more time. This time I completely lost recovery. Had to boot into fastboot and re-flash clockwork then flash everything again. Guess what, Box still doesn't work.

What, no posts in over SIX hours?!?!

Don't tell me that everyone is spending time outside with family and friends, maybe even BBQ'ing? Driving fast cars? Drinking beer (not while driving)? Making burgers or tacos?

Changed the brakes on the car, the air filter and wiper blades, and the vacuum lines for the window washer and the pumps for the front and back washer sprayers this morning...lunch and naps done...now off to the beach....so yeah..outside with family all day!!!

Good morning all, wasn't around much this weekend. I burned brush all day Saturday (stupid hurricane and blizzard with the leaves still on the trees). I'll get pics of the before and after later, but it was a 30' X 20' by 15' pile of brush reduced to a small pile of ashes. Mission accomplished.

I spent yesterday getting in touch with my inner geek. Trying linux distros on a circa 2000 laptop to see what would work. Ubuntu loads, but is too slow to be used. openSuSe loaded, and is more responsive, but still not really useable.

The laptop has a celeron processor and 256MP RAM, any ideas. I don't need it to be a daily driver, just something to play around with linux on so I can learn.
