Morning everyone. Well it looks like Samsung is rolling out ICS to the INTERNATIONAL SGS2 right now. I guess that means the US version will get it in, uh, 6 months?
Feeling a little under the weather (everyone at work is coming down with something. I blame our GM who brought it in from his rotten kids at home ). Just going to take it easy today on my day off.
Anyone else getting insane weather this week? Supposed to be almost 80 here today

Me too!!! Spring and fall are my favorite seasons (so any weather that emulates them is wonderful!) Around 70 here today. Possible thunderstorms - I loves me a good booming storm!!!

.... Can't move from the 4.0.4 leak right now because the notification toggles are truly the one feature I miss from AOKP, but the leak is so much smoother on my phone.

Have you tried Crossbreed? It's basically AOKP with 4.0.4 ICS. It has all the tweaks from Milestone 4 on AOKP, and uses AOKP's ROM Control.

Roman won't build a ROM from 4.0.4 yet because it was leaked by Google and then pulled back, so he's playing it safe. But DroidTh3ory, who's behind Crossbreed, has stabilized all issues as far as I can see. I was on AOKP from day 1 practically, but I've never had a better ROM than Crossbreed!

I just wish that someone would push out that HD Netflix app that will work with anything higher than 4.0.2.

Welcome back Han! You were missed. Do you like the show Supernatural? The wife and I are plowing through it on Netflix. Love it.

Nope, never seen that one. We're watching too much TV as it is, lol.

Right now our favorites are Once Upon a Time, Alcatraz, Last Man Standing (silly sitcom), The Office, Parks and Rec, (Community is back this Thursday!), Shark Tank, and Amazing Race. I'm also re-watching LOST in 720p on the old Nexy (in the middle of season 2 now).

I'm also catching a lot of old Twilight Zone reruns.

Too much TV!!

We've got Awake and Touch TiVo'd, but haven't gotten to them yet.

BB update on the PSE stuff...got the work load done...after a lot of trial and error, and received a commendation email sent to my manager for the work...which is nice to hear sometimes....
Now this week is all about the invites.....a little tightened of those right now, but will see how it goes.

I did catch small snippets of an episode here or there, but I thought that most of the women this season looked really ugly for some reason. Like plastic dolls. Courtney was super oily and pimply, lol.

ROFL!! Yeah, many of the women seemed like that this season. Kacie (the one from TN) and Lindsey (I think that was her name...the one in the final 2) were probably the most real. Strange to me that he had picked 2 polar opposites to be in the final 2. If you didn't watch the episode last week (Women tell all episode) you definitely should go watch it. Very enteraining to see 20 or so women band together against the one witch, lol.

Good morning AF! Decided that I want to port my Weight Watchers app over to iOS and I read some reviews on Appcelerator and PhoneGap and the reviews aren't so hot so I decided to just teach myself Objective-C to learn to make iOS apps.

Nothing bad can come from it so going to give it a shot.

Really not a lot of differences between Java and objective C. You should be able to make the switch fairly easy.

Also a question. I'm "pretty sure" I have flashed the .4 radios/bootloader. Is there anyway to confirm? If I flash the ones from the Rootz site for Crossbreed over the ones I may have, will there be problems? Just recall the OG Droid days where Pete was throwing out a new baseband almost daily and it was hard to keep up.

Check in "About Phone" in your settings. Under Baseband Version, if you see "i515.09 V.FA02 / i515.FA02", then you've got 4.0.4 radios.

Although flashing the "get ready package" before the actual ROM from the OP at the rootz site will overwrite any radios and bootloaders you have, so it's not a big deal.

Let me know how you like it after you've got it all set up! Monolith 1 is his milestone build, and it's very stable so far.

Edit: This ROM includes Franco's kernel, but you can flash any other one as far as I can tell. If you don't have Franco's app, I'd strongly recommend it. His latest nightly, #85, has a "turtle" governor setting that really helps with battery life. I'm using DroidTh30ry's kernel settings (he lists them in the OP) for the other stuff.

We also watch Lost Girl...plus Merlin, Face Off, and Being Human. And things like American Pickers, Criminal Minds, Dirty Jobs and a crap load of HGTV....HGTV is almost always on!!!
But by the end of this year we will be changing from the $120/mo cable TV to $40/mo internet TV...just have to figure out if there is enough of the TV programs we like available online and easy to get to...we already have the internet only TV set up and running in all the bedrooms and office, but have not made the switch yet in the living room....plus we need a new TV for the living room anyways...our 36" tube is not cutting it anymore...

Actually market restore was broken on earlier builds, but I heard it was fixed in the Monolith build. I never use market restore; AppMonster is perfect for me.

Are you doing a full wipe? Also, it might be good to format system under mounts and storage (in CWR) before flashing the ROM.

I was using Nova for the longest time, but I like Apex's ability to hide apps in the drawer that you don't want to see, the gestures options, and the ability to hide the shadows above the dock and at the top of the page. Otherwise, it's pretty much the same as Nova.

Thanks, the reflash fixed the app restore from the Market. But, I had some weird errors once I "upgraded" to the Play store. I went to download Beautiful Widgets since it didn't restore and got errors saying it can't download. I clicked okay, backed out of it and then it downloaded. Not sure what's going on there? Also, I have Franco's app but went into SetCPU and there wasn't the option for "turtle" (I've used it in the past). Is there something I need to do to get it?

Weird about the market thing. Haven't run into that one.

As far as Franco's turtle governor, I think you need his app. It's worth the $2 and change because you can also set color values.

The Turtle governor is also available only on his latest nightly, which is #89. I think Crossbreed comes with #85 out of the box. So maybe try flashing #89 from Franco's site first, and then see if Turtle is available on SetCPU. If it isn't, you'll probably have to buy the app.

Yeah, I remember hearing that Nova Prime had gestures enabled. I'm just cheap and didn't want to pay for it. lol

Regarding Franco's kernel:

r89 is amazing. The new francoturtle seems to be friggin' diesel.

REMEMBER: let it charge at 100% for as long as you can. If you just pop it off once it reaches 100%, you might notice it starts discharging quickly. I've found that if you let it stay on the charger, it's almost like it "settles".
