After flashing CM7, the words that show up for quick typing suggestions are only composed of words imported from my contacts. I seem to have lost the internal dictionary, or have seriously depleted it. Is there a way to get this back or a new dictionary i can dowmload/flash? Any suggestions would be helpful, or even a point in the right direction. Thanks!

Well one question would be that, "Do you have it rooted or not?", because there are few things that I could walk you through if it is rooted. I can help you add in a whole new keyboard like Swype or the ICS Keyboard that'll then reload the whole on-the-fly dictionary/spelling helper. If its not rooted then I think you might be out of luck...I say "might" because I haven't heard of that happening on a Standard ROM of the Fire. The other thing you forgot to also mention is how you think you did this or what you did that might of caused this to happen to so we can work from there. These details are key for asking for help support on these forums :)

Try clearing the app data for the keyboard app. Since you are rooted you can install Swype or any other keyboard pretty easily.

Yeah...I thought my edited post had shown but I guess not :( Anyways you it should be easier to just install Swype or ICS keyboard...if your the type that likes to touch to type then the ICS is perfect. If you want to get things done quick and my effortlessly then Swype IMO

Well said, I would of just said to wait on the phone for 30min. with Kind Customer Support :p JK I wouldn't of told you to do that.lol.

When I was faced with this decision on my phone, I started looking into alternative keyboards, and I am very glad I did. Some of them have cursor movement arrow keys, which I find much easier to use than the on-screen method of trying to place a cursor. On this A500 tablet I prefer Super Keyboard Pro. On my Droid X I use TouchPal. Both of them seem to be "less annoying" than what I experienced with Swype always changing what I typed into words I never meant to use. But eventually I turned off autocomplete entirely. It is overall faster for me to make my own corrections than deal with the poor choices these apps offer in trying to guess what I am typing.

I also found that there was no free alternative to the factory-included version of Swype. They want you to buy it from their website.

WTF?! They have never wanted you to buy it from their site. I've been using Swype almost since day one and never had been charged for anything. I don't know what site you were using when trying to install it. Swype has been free.

I just installed Swype and it worked great. I didn't have to pay for it ether, but I did get it from their website.
Its so much more efficient then touch typing and its much faster. I love what Swype has done for the every Droid device user. I'm glad that your enjoying it too. If you have any problems with it feel free to drop me a PM at anytime and I'll be happy to help :)
