Motorola Electrify - Not Receiving Gmail Notifications

I've had my phone for a about 2 months now and it worked almost flawlessly up until about a week ago. It stopped notifying me of emails. I use the gmail account that I set up my android phone with and I had everything set up to notify me by ringtone and in the notification bar -- Which now it does neither.

I haven't changed anything so I don't understand why all of a sudden it's not working. The only way I know if I have an email or not is if I manually go into my email and refresh the page. It takes a few seconds and if there are any new emails they eventually pop up..

I'm not at all please with this and any help or advice would be much appreciated, thank you.

I'm having the exact same situation with my 2-week old Razr Maxx. It has worked flawlessly, but now I have to manually sync... I'm on version 2.3.6 and the whole Accounts setup is very different. It lists my Gmail among other accounts but there are no checkboxes. I've gone into the settings within the Gmail account and made sure everything is syncing but I must not be seeing something.

And, no battery pull on the Maxx...any other suggestions??
