Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Morning all....hope everyone had a great green day...
We decided to go buy furniture at IKEA yesterday. Had hoped to get out of there for less than $500...yeah right. But we got my better half a new design center desk, cabinets and shelves. It will be fun to assemble and a much better looking room and more space for her to make jewelry and photos, etc.
Oh and we went and did our scanning for our wedding registry at Crate & Barrel....and finally set up our own wedding website. And drove about 400 miles total....Such a fun day!!!
Today is more wine tasting....oye busy weekend!!!
Hope everyone has a great day!!

I think of IKEA as more of an amusement park trip than shopping. I love it there...

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Hello everyone,

I am getting ready to switch over to the dark side (From T-mo to Vzw lol) and wanted to know if anyone has gotten any updates since receiving the Gnex and what is the current ver (4.0.2 or .3) as i have heard of some issues that are supposed to be resolved with a promised S/W update. Also if stock has too many bugs and I wanted to go the flash route what are a few of the best ROM's out currently or if 1 stands out from the rest? I go to buy tomorrow or tuesday and am deciding between the GN, the BOGO LG strats or the razr maxx. Any advice or opinions are appreciated. Have a great sunday all.

Still on 4.0.2. If you root the Gnex you can get 4.0.4.

Gnex is an awesome phone. I don't know anything about the LG. And if you are looking for battery life then go with the Razr Maxx.

As for flashing? I'm rooted but have not done anything to it. I like stock and I use Nova Launcher as it does what I want.

Like halon said, technically the Nexus is on 4.0.2, but you can easily upgrade to 4.0.4 if you root. The major advantages are with the radios. We'll get plenty more updates so no worries. If battery life is a priority, certainly give the Maxx a shot. I love everything about the Nexus but battery life is pretty sad.

Morning, folks. I don't think BB will be up for another few hours.

Watched an old Woody Allen movie last night, "Manhattan Murder Mystery". Great film! I'd never watched Woody Allen, even though everyone raves about them. But that is a really funny movie. Very "comfortable" if that means anything.

You're funny. I was actually up around 9 because I was finishing a wedding album for my best friend. We went out today and I was determined to have it done. At 1:45 I finally finished making the edges pretty and binding it together.
And now I get to clean up the apparent hurricane I had become in the past week. I currently can't see my bed, most of my craft table and part of the floor

I hope everyone enjoyed the gorgeous weather this weekend.

Good Morning! Spring Breakers are gone, we had a great time but its always nice to have things back to normal. I am still trying to get or Nexie to stream to the new TV via apps and DLNA. I think I have tried every app and none see the television. I can access some things if I fire up an app and then pull things from the television. IMediaShare so far works the best, but I can not see any of the photos on the Nexus (that is true of every app). With IMedia, I can stream the videos I have taken (HD video taken on the Nexie on a 70 inch tv is awesome by the way), I can play music and use the various video apps built into the app but all have to be accessed by pulling from the tv and it is a bit finicky. The file structure the tv sees on the Nexus is correct but if you try to open the folder it says it says "No Data is Available". When I look at the file structure, it always says /root and then the folders and I have noticed that almost all of these apps are suppose to work with photos/ video or music stored on the sd card. Could this be the problem? Because we do not have a removable sd card? Or is the fact that I am rooted creating a conflict? As to why the apps never see the tv, I think it is because the tv is not reporting its availability to the network as a media player. I can not find anything in the settings for the tv to get it to broadcast its availability. I have also tried both wireless and wired, neither works better. Anyone with any suggestions or experience with this is greatly appreciated. I have an illness, if I have a piece of technology, I am obsessed with getting everything out of it that I can , lol.

Can you set up your tv on your network at home as an independant device, and if so, does the nexy see it? For us, we use a WHS 2011 server as a media server, and a win 7 computer for own bedroom TV, but our TV did not show up on the network until we assigned it as a Windows Media Center extender, from the computer in the bedroom....Even though we don't stream from that particular computer to the TV, for whatever reason, that was the only way to get our TV to get assigned an IP address on the network.

Good Monday morn everyone!!! Hope everyone had a safe...and somewhat productive weekend!!

Morning all - went to CT this weekend with the lady. Went to the planetarium and the zoo and just did some driving to get away from NJ for a bit. It was a really good time -- took some pictures at the zoo that I will post up later tonight. Nice small zoo, but lots of animals to see and most of them were actually awake and active which was cool. Definitely needed to get away and this really did it. Thinking of making this a monthly or occurance to just get away from NJ for a weekend and just spend us time together - really good bonding time.

Also in week 3 of P90X2 and definitely feeling it. Seeing some great results and my core feels stronger and tighter than ever. Definitely a different workout than P90X (the original) and glad I started it and got motivated to do it and keep up with it. Highly recommended so far.

Also took another wheel apart for the car - they seem to be welded together so the refinishing might need to happen without splitting them. Kind of a PITA, but I enjoy working on this kind of stuff so its no huge deal for me.

And finally on Sunday it was gorgeous out so me and the g/f's brother did some BBQing outside. Fire looks awesome on camera.

I have to say, the interesting phone news is finally starting to ramp up. HTC One X, GSIII, and now the Droid Fighter. None of them are really phasing me to even consider them, but after the disappointment that was CES and MWC (IMO), glad to see the next round of superphones being vetted.

Ugh. I haven't even visited Droid-Life or The Verge since about a week after getting the SGN. I don't want to see what else it out there. I'll look again in 2 years, lol
