Yea, remove or freeze NFL Mobile... that damn app uses a TON of power and data, even if you never load it. I froze "What's New' too... I believe it's a widget app that shows new sms and email, based on the permissions it has. You can probably freeze LG Keyboard if you're using an alternate like SwiftKey... I usually leave them, just in case.

What about sync service? I can't recall if that's acct sync or just sync for backup asst.

Just an FYI...

ONLY Freeze or Remove MobileCare Extensions 1.0 if you do not want to use Bluetooth. It will not allow it to start up or connect, or at least that is what I have seen so far.

When Uninstalling the Charging Wallpapers one of the packages brings up a FC. This will continuously pop up until rebooting. If you are connected "adb reboot" should work. Also if you hold down the power button it will bring up the menu to shut down. If you hit the Force Close fast enough you can also hit Power Off, this will allow you to hit OK to shut down. You could also always just pull the battery. After rebooting the app is removed and no further FCs should occur.

I will update more tomorrow on all that I removed and issues that I may encounter.

I've been going through the list and freezing apps. One thing I ran into was that I couldn't download anything from Market (or Play or whatever it's called now ;)). I did a batch defrost through TB and was able to update and download again. I'm not going through the list to see what I froze that caused the glitch. I'll report back when I figure what broke.

:)

Ditto to that, and Titanium seems to be unable to restore it... It just spins and spins, but never finishes. I've tried force closing titanium and doing it again, and restarting. Not too important to me, as I don't use bluetooth, but three times a year or so. But I would like it to work then I need it. I think there will be a ROM for me to install be that happens.

I froze "home" two days ago and have not had any issues yet, I am using ADW. Although I have not been testing it, just using my phone.

Freezing home has worked fine for me as well, I have been using my phone with it frozen for a few days I am also using ADW. I have removed pretty much all apps that are on the list above (forgot my list to give you a full update but will let you know) as well as deleting the accompanying odex files from the system/app folder and have not had problems. I did have an issue with Navigation for Google Maps, but a market update for maps fixed that. I am going to be doing some more work on this and will update if I find anything worthy.

Right, I meant charge life, I worded it wrong. So it's recommended that I root ?

It's only recommended that you root your device IF you know what you are doing. Root is one of those things that allows you to shoot yourself in the foot without proper research.

Think of it this way... You are given a Ferrari and told you can now drive it anywhere and basically change anything and everything on the car. That's what root does. It gives you absolute control over every aspect of your device. What you choose to add or remove can affect the device in both positive and negative ways. If you remove a critical file (and don't have a backup), your device is screwed.

I don't mean to scare you off from rooting, but I am a firm believer in giving good advice when I can.

The advice about root isn't that true with this device. If you find it to be too risky, simply use the power/volume down to hard restore and it will wipe out root. Of course, if you're rooted, you want to be wiser about the apps you install, but I haven't found it to be any less secure.

to me the process was easy, and doing something to goof the phone up seemes pretty difficult. I also see somehting i have no clue about and dont touch it. To me it seems like you would want to put more emphasis on the posisble bad when advising about root, just to make sure its clear that root can be very risky is used incorrectly.

Actually that is untrue. The su binary and the SuperUser.apk are both stored in the /system partition which is not affected by the hard restore. Hard restore will wipe /data and /cache. That is why it clears the apps you download.
