hi im new to the g1 and i want to root my phone. ive read all about build numbers being rc29 and what not but mine say crb43 am i still able to root i have cupcake as my phone came updated so can someone tell me or link me to a guide i guess downgrade and root my phone with a different cupcake build if possible thanks in advance

ok so downgrade to rc29 like described in the guide as normal right?

If you are Showing a CRC1 you have the latest Security fix to you phone ...

This would mean you dont have a rooted phone and that all is fine with your phone as a stock phone that has been updated with builds from TMobile OTA ...

Do not try to install RC29 or other flash builds unless you are trying to root you phone and then only if you have a good guide and ALL the proper files ...

If you are not sure ASK 1st .. DONT Brick and then ask for help ...
