Please store that backup in a safe place (like your pc)..You have been warned
Switching between basebands can sometimes be tricky..Backup2PC

-Instructions for FLASHING
Download zip
-Boot Recovery
-Wipe Data/Factory Reset
-Wipe Cache and then Wipe Dalvik
-Install Zip from SD
-Select CM9Alpha and then select yes to FLASH
-Let it finish its thing, go back and Reboot
-Once the phone boots up, let it sit for five minutes
-Go to System Settings->Developer Options->Change window animation scale and transition animation scale both to 2x or 5x
-Enjoy
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-If coming from another ROM with a SD partition
Backup->Backup 2 PC->Boot Recovery->Mounts and Storage->Reformat SDext->Mount System and Mount Data->Back->Install zip from SD->Choose zip from SD->Select CM9 Kang->Select yes to install->Let it run and finish->When everything is done select Reboot system now
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-If coming from stock or another ROM with NO SD partition
3.4 with DTa2sd Support->Flash ROM->Bootup->Boot Recovery->Mount System->Mount Data->Advanced->Partition SD->Doesnt Matter and recomended 126m or 158m Swap->Reboot->DTa2sd GUI->Move apps to SD->Reboot->Bootup->A2sd GUI->Dalvik on SD->Move and Rebuild->Bootup->PROFIT

The size of your partition is completely up to you but the ROM seems to work smoother with a swap size of 128 or 256.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flash the ROM below in CWM..You DO NOT need a SD partition to use the ROM's below..but why wouldnt you want one??

Just saying people are really itching to see a beta soon is all because numerous threads have branched because Hroark has released the cm9 alpha..

i gotya...well depending on what aspects of a rom you would need working to consider it a beta, but pretty much everything works in this rom..Hroark fixed most of the important things..the rest are little odds and ends..like video playback for netflix and you tube..there is already a fix for other cm9 roms..just gotta figure out what it is and add it..but for the most part its little things that arent right on point..nothing major that i have seen so far atleast

I installed CM9 Kang coming from CTMod 3.3, all I did was follow the instructions for install, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik cache, factory/data reset, then flashed CM9, then installed Kato Kernel 0.3, everything installed and ran fine, there were some issues I noticed, the music player force closes a lot, video does work but is real jittery, couldn't get bluetooth to work, wifi works perfectly, the reason I restored my backup is bc of the kernel not having sd-ext support... Otherwise good job on this ROM man!! We're getting closer to having ICS on our Prevails... :p :D

EDIT: Is there any way that someone can put sd-ext support into Kato Kernel?? I would love to continue using CM9 Kang, but I really wanna have sd-ext support in the kernel for my phone...

kato is working really hard with all of the oc kernels...i dont know anything about them..so hopefully he can whip us up a oc kernel with data2ext in the near future...if he does i will intergrate it..the oc kernel in this alpha is his 900mhz kernel...ill check into a different music player though so thanks..i guess if anything i get from doing this is to show everyone that progress has been and can be made...so sooner or later we will get it all the way there...just takes time...i didnt do anything special to this except add some mods and tweaks a new kernel..some other users fixes..swaped out some other stuff for things in my opinion that work better..i must had flashed my phone back and forth 20-30 times each night i was working on this..gave me a new kind of respect for what Hroark,Blood,Kouma,Skater and the rest of the developers go thorough...superuser was acting like a real pain in the ass...and not getting along with one of the changes i was making

Just use S2E until then . That's what I'm doing .

Hey guys I just flashed the rom over and after first boot I get the message "Encryption Unsuccessful" and it gives me the option to preform a factory reset. (I followed the directions provided and already did a reset and wipe in CWM.) SO I re-flashed the rom and I still get the error message. Has anyone come across this problem???

kinda weird how some people dont have trouble flashing including myself...and some people do...anyway is your sd partitioned?

Yes it is.

kinda at a loss bro...i would say try reflashing but i think you said you tried that..i dont know why some people are able to flash it with no problems and others are getting some sort of error message..i havent made any serious changes from hroarks original alpha that would be causing something whacky to go on..i am realizing that cm9 doesnt like the few changes i am trying to make because i am bootlooping like 347 times a night..so the bootloops i have run into.. but whatever error your getting i have never seen...maybe someone with more experience in the matter will chime in

also if your actually managing to boot up after you flash, boot back into recovery and and factory reset again..see if that changes anything, also you could back your sd up to your pc and repartition your sd..not that i dont believe you already have done so, but it couldnt hurt as long as you back up all your stuff to your pc

I'm bootlooping after trying to flash this. How do I get back to recovery?

for some reason, and it could just be me but it seems like it takes forever to boot..but if your certain your looping yank the battery..then stick the battery back in...boot into recovery from the phone powered off and restore your backup

what kind of setup were you running before? sd partitioned? did you follow steps from the op to flash? a clean wipe?
