Help Help with driver problem

Hello

I have a big problem with the drivers to my phone in both Vista and XP, when I connect my phone it is not recognized by the computer.

It shows up as an unknown device and I am unable to update the drivers, it says that I already have the best avaliable drivers.

I can not access the phone thru the computer.

I have searched for answers and nothing has worked I have even formated my computer but still the same problem.

Does anybody have any solutions or thoughts about this problem?

Ok need a little more info.... are you running XP or Vista or both... and what kind of phone do you have G1, Magic???? and is it rooted?

We need some additional info.

Are you trying to use the tools from SDK 1.5 ?

Are you trying to just access the files on your SDCard ?

Phone Model ?

Rooted ?

To access the SD, after its plugged in via usb, go to the phone's notifications.
In there you can enable mounting.

Tried it on two diffrent computers XP and Vista

Tried to use SDK but the problem is that windows dont recognize the unit and installs some crappy drivers and it show up as an unknown unit

And I can't mount the card, that option does not show up in notifications-bar (it used to do).

I am beginning to suspect that something is wrong with the phone. Otherwise it would have worked on the formated computer??

If you are not having problems looking at files on the SDCard with a phone app like Astro or Linda then does sound like a USB interface issue ...

You dont have anything to loose ... try doing a Factory Reset and see if the SDcard will mount as a USB drive ...
